The squad works the late night shift wherein they get a couple of crazies. First is a man who claims that a succubus is sapping his will to live while he sleeps. Second is a series of bomb threats from a guy named Leon. When Leon is apprehended, it turns out that he's a quiet but frustrated man who lives next door to the station house. He's angry because he's lived in the neighborhood for 15 years and feels that the police have no courtesy. The death of Jack Soo in 1979 marked the passing of both a fine comedy actor and one of TV's most memorable characters: Nick Yemana, the deadpan detective known for his dry wit and wretched coffee. This tribute to Soo features reminiscences by the series regulars as well as some notable Yemana vignettes--Nick's curious response to an ink-blot test administered by a police psychiatrist; his attraction to a Japanese woman who turns out to be a hooker; and his inability to stop singing after he innocently eats brownies laced with hashish.
