Rob accuses Sharon of infidelity after finding the receipt for the morning after pill but she explains that she took it after they last had sex, not wanting another child, and he apologizes. However she feels guilty about her near sexual encounter with young Nico and Rob is suspicious. A row ensues, interrupted when son Frankie has a fall and, at the hospital, Sharon confesses all. Rob is not entirely forgiving but nor is Sharon happy to learn that he has quit his job, despite being found not guilty of sexual harassment. Written by don @ minifie-1

Things are still shaky between Sharon and stay at home dad Rob, who, on the school run, is confronted by angry parent Polly, claiming that her little boy was bitten by Rob's son Frankie. Consequently Rob drowns his sorrows with Dave, which does not bode well at his latest job interview. Sharon returns to work to replace fellow teacher Mr Humphries, who hung himself but falls foul of the headmistress for revealing in her tribute to the deceased that he was gay. To save money Sharon and Rob decide to sell the house and down-size, despite the glib estate agent telling them they will not make a profit. Sharon hits it off with elderly widower Wallace, keen to move to a flat, and half-promises to buy his property but when the bank refuses a mortgage and Rob fails to secure a modelling job the couple must face the wrath of Wallace. Sharon is not happy. She may be reconciled with Rob but she is past child bearing, her father's dementia is getting worse and Fergal, returned from Spain, wants to move in. At a dinner party given by Fran and Chris Sharon and Rob are taken aback when they are asked to be the legal guardians of the other couple's teen-aged actor son Jeffrey should they die. Later Chris, desperate that Fran's new beau Douglas should not be able to adopt Jeffrey, leans on Rob to accept on pain of telling Sharon he is drinking again. Rob goes back to his old job whilst Sharon and Fergal return to Ireland after Des, their father, has a stroke. Sharon is angry not only because she is the subject of local gossip but because Fergal always appears to have been their father's favourite. Mia, Fran and Chris join the mourners at Des's funeral, though Fran uses it to parade her own woes whilst for Mia it seems to be something of a shopping trip, Carol nonetheless cheered by her presence. Back in England Fran splits with Douglas but is angry with Chris over the two men's confrontation and Sharon is not happy to have Mia as a house guest .
