In each pulse-racing Fear Factor episode, contestants (sometimes solo, often paired with spouses, siblings or best friends) recruited from across the nation must decide if they have the guts and determination to face their most primal fears. Under the supervision of professional Hollywood stunt coordinators, contestants are confronted with a series of challenging stunts. If they complete their task they advance; if fear stops them from completing a stunt or they fail the mission, they are immediately eliminated. The contestant who wins the final challenge takes home the prize. Written by Matt Kunitz

In the first stunt, one is handcuffed and chained to a tree attached by a bungee cord to a helicopter. Their partner is in the helicopter. The one must release themselves with keys from the cuffs and locks on the chain as the other climbs down a rope ladder from the helo, grab flags and once at the bottom of the ladder, put a release cord that will bungee their partner towards the helicopter. The couple with the slowest time will be eliminated. For the second stunt, the women must get in a tub full of leeches for 30 seconds. With the leeches on them, they must get out, go to their male partner and he must take of 30 leeches with his mouth and then both must eat 10 leeches. The couple with the slowest time is eliminated. Surprise as one couple drops out! For the third stunt, one gathers glowing bags in a burning building climbing floors dressed in full fire gear and then give them to the other on top of the building. The person on the building is flung off and must drop the bags on a target on the ground. No one is eliminated. The closest to the center of the target wins $5000. The fourth stunt is the Fear Factor Wheel of Misfortune. One is strapped to the wheel the other spins it. They each must do what they land on: get a tattoo, a shaved head and eye brows or get tear gassed. They don't do it, they're gone! For the finale and to win $100,000 dollars, one hangs upside down on a moving crane, one drives a car covered in flags swerving through an obstacle course. The one that grabs the most flags WINS!
