EPS02
After Hyacinth subjected Elizabeth to her strict standards of appropriate garment length and instructing Richard how to smile, the spouses pick up hard-of-hearing old Mrs. Fortescue to go for a drive. Hyacinth would have ignored her sisters hitching a lift, but the old lady, who declined a seat in the front, insists they squeeze the common pair in at the back seat with her. They stop for Daisy at a pub where Hyacinth is horrified to discovers Onslow is playing darts. She goes to perilous lengths to avoid being seen even peeping in, but Mrs. Fortescue proves rather more sociable... Written by KGF Vissers
EPS03
After a haughty complaint about passing garbage bins, Hyacinth inspects the garden and issues command-invitations for another widely feared candlelight supper. It's a nightmarish first for Emmet, who still harbors futile illusions of resistance, soon squashed by experienced Elizabeth, who somehow survives another coffee visit. Meanwhile Rose arrives, followed by her present rival suitors, who flee when they hear the racket (even from outdoors) while inside musician Emmet endures the hosts' toneless recital. Hyacinth is very excited at the prospect of having her new three piece suite, an exact replica of the one at Sandrigham House, delivered. Hyacinth Bucket (whose name she insists is pronounced bouquet) continually looks for opportunities to climb the social ladder, though she's wedged on a rung just below her sister Violet (whose house has a swimming pool, sauna, and room for a pony) and just above her working class sisters Daisy and Rose. Hyacinth's passion for flawless entertaining unnerves her neighbor Elizabeth, who is often invited to the Bucket home for coffee. Elizabeth's divorced brother Emmet, who also lives next door to the Buckets, tries to avoid Hyacinth because she breaks into song in his presence in the hope he'll cast her in one of his little theater musical productions.
