Richard, Kahlan and Zeddicus travel to an ancient Seeker's crypt to hide one of the Boxes of Orden, only to find that the past is not quite at rest there.

Richard Cypher's happy youth ends abruptly after Kahlan, a white witch from an ancient order, magically crosses the near-impenetrable border from the Midlands, Darken Rahl's grim D'Haran empire, to his own, yet pacific world. Richard's father George Cypher is killed, actually by Ranssyn Fane, an officer pursuing Kahlan, but he manages to make even Richard's big brother, the local first counselor Michael. Kahlna finds the great wizard Zeddicus Zed Zu'l Zorander and makes him help her explain to Richard his destiny, actually being adopted by George. Richard rejects it, but sword and magical book that come with it soon persuade him to accept becoming the Seeker, destined to stop Rahlan's bid to establish a dark world rule. Written by KGF Vissers

Giant warrior Chase Brandstone joins Richard, Zed and Kahlan on their quest to stop the rising dark lord, but that turns Michael's men against his family. Darken Rahl's warlocks and sorcerers jointly weaken the magical border until his army can pass, to capture the magical book. Richard rather burns it and wields the sword with unhoped-for success, except that Kahlan's magical companion is fatally wounded. Zed approves of it being withheld from Darken at any cost and their party can now cross the border themselves. Written by KGF Vissers

Richard's party penetrates D'Haran country, appalled by the pitiless reign of terror. As if trying to defend innocent people against Darken's rapacious troops, a mapmaker enables bounty-hunters, lured by a massive gold prize, to track the seeker down. Zed backtracks to deal with that problem from the cartographic root. Richard waves Kahlan's warning his mission, hence his security, outranks helping individuals. trying to free teenage Liam from a Shadrin monster, at his elder sister's plea, Richard is however captured to be traded at a military stronghold. Zed agrees to let Richard join a hunting party while he and Kahlan deals with arbitration request from people, including his own alleged son and would be-apprentice Allard. The stag brings the hunters near Richard's birth town Brennidon, where he can't resist searching anonymously for his roots. He's recognized a woman who 'held him at birth', and presents him to half-brother Mark. The latter hesitates whether to help hide him or turn him over to Darken's troops, who get wind of his presence and take all possible mothers hostage. Written by KGF Vissers

When Richard's party comes across 'listener' Renn, a powerful mind-reader, sold to Darken's men, he waves Kahlan's caution for his own safety and decides to save to boy regardless of risk. The knave behaves like a spoiled utter ingrate, but Richard spares no effort and wins his trust. Renn's father, presumed dead, turns up and takes his son back, but as Richard suspects only to sell him again. The soldiers troop which accepts him has already chained Zed, who came to them pretending to offering his magical services to Darken, actually to protect an undercover rebel whom Renn soon exposed. Richard is learning from Zed how to perceive what escapes his senses. Chasing young horse thief jack, they arrive in Drundriland to find the town's life completely disrupted by addiction to magical potions on sale. One of those actually helps Richard trace their origin to the cave 'temple' of a 'prophet'. Zed recognizes the warlock as a former apprentice, but gets his powers stolen just before he works out the sorcerer has been corrupted by greed and ambition. Richard and Kahlan must free Zed and rid the town of abused magic. Written by KGF Vissers

Richard's party attends the arranged marriage of Bronwyn, the daughter of the collaborators's leader to Gryff, the son of a rich merchant who secretly spies for the resistance. Barely recovered from his surprise that Gryff is a passionate and knowledgeable admirer of past seekers and unwilling bride to wed, Richard gets a prophecy that he will be killed in his latest endeavor, intrude in the camp of Darken's most trusted general, who will stay there only one night. When Richard decides to ignore the warning, the witch Shota, who made it, magically switches his body with that of Gryff so that even Kahlan is fooled. Richard is forced to marry in the enthusiastic presence of the D'Haraan garrison commander, but escapes during the hasty wedding night with the equally unwilling bride to catch up with the 'false' seeker's party, which benefits from Gryff's qualities. General Demmin Nass brings Darken Rahl' s new orders: the seeker must not be killed but captured and enslaved. Richard and Kahlan are totally distracted when she stops his attempt to kiss her passionately but refuses to explain why. Zed can barely escape when Mord-Sith Denna attacks and imprisons Richard in a dungeon, to be subdued by protracted torture designed to make pleasing his dominatrix his sole purpose. Kahlan resigns her post and agrees to swap places with order sister Lara, but discovers she abused her powers to enslave the village she had to protect and reconsiders. When Kahlan arrives, Richard is despairing whether he can keep resisting and pretending to be nearly tame. Written by KGF Vissers

Darken Rahl is planning to find the final Box of Orden, which is being held by Queen Milena or Tamarang. Zedd posses as a puppeteer for the Queens daughter, Violet's birthday party. Meanwhile Richard and Kahlan try to find a way to stop Darken Rahl's men from reaching Tamarang. Written by Kirstine

Richard's party suddenly meets the remaining members of Kahlan's order, who flee general Demmin Nass's troops to the coast to take refuge on a magically protected island to avoid extinction. To Kahlan's amazement it includes her presumed-dead sister Dennee, who very soon gives birth. Instead of the long-hoped new confessor, it's a boy, who by tradition must by ritually sacrificed out of fear he'll grow up as a mighty monster. Richard refuses to allow such cruelty and gets the confession-spellbound father Finn on his side, The order's mother resorts to confessing Zed to enforce execution, but Richard still puts up a formidable fight for innocent life. Zed returns home, to visit his jealous non-magical brother Thaddicus and retrieve the key, a family heirloom, to a magical tomb as safest place for the dangerous box. However Thad is bitter Zed didn't visit before their mother died, and is deep in gambling debt. Meanwhile Richard and Kahlen visit a village where resistance leader Conor Greenleaf was murdered at home. After a lonely swamp dweller confesses to Kahlen and village chief Declan hangs him, they find proof Niles must be innocent, which means the confessor's gift must have failed. At night, Richard's healthy sleeps changes into a deep trance. Zed soon realizes he's under a rare spell from a great magician, using a short celestial constellation to enable long distance mind control, which can end in death. Indeed, Darken Rahl has been enabled to appear to Richard in any form, notably his step-family, to make him recall his quest as they claim it never happened, in an effort to make Richard tell where the missing box of Orden is hidden. Zed fears rightly he won't be able to break the spell magically, but something else does just before Darken finds out details. Written by KGF Vissers

While Zeddicus remains engaged elsewhere, securing the box of Orden, Richard suddenly encounters home town friend Chase and helps him escape D'Haharen troops. Informed their families suffer totalitarian occupation Richard returns with him and Kahlen. They find step-brother Michael, the magistrate, presides over prayer sessions thanking Darken Rahl for repelling the rapacious attacks of Gar-dragons. Richard's first lover Anna Brighton is securing the viceroy to find out what happens to her brother. Together they discover he's among many men supposedly conscripted, in fact sacrificed to the monsters. Michael is informed and a revolt plan hatched, which doesn't work out as planned. Richard's attempts to rescue his friends from a sadistic wizard's deadly experiments send him into his first explosive face-to-face confrontation with the evil Darken Rahl.

Darken Rahl gives Denna one last chance to bring him the final piece of the Box of Orden. She, fatefully, runs into Richard, Kahlan and Zeddicus. Then things get complicated and secrets long buried see daylight.

Richard and Kahlan return to a helpful village, only to find everyone dead. Objects a captured enemy calls Whisperers killed the people - and Darken Rahl has more of them in a keep. Richard decides to enter by impersonating the prisoner.
EPS18
After a routine stop at an inn, both Richard and Kahlan start having alternating moments of uncharacteristic behavior. Can they find out the cause before Zeddicus returns or Darken Rahl's minions catch them?
EPS19
King Gregor of Caddock requests the Seeker's help. Earlier, Gregor asked the witch Shota power to defend the kingdom forever to drive away the D'harans, but the power had a horrible downside that may stay forever as well.
EPS20
A librarian is close to finding out where one of the copies of The Book of Counted Shadows is hidden. Rahl himself sets out to meet her. But Richard, Kahlen and Zedd are already there. However, something changes the situation completely.
EPS21
Richard and Zedd get an idea of how Richard can control the power of Orden. But Darken Rahl has captured Jennsen and cursed her village. And she threw the Box of Orden to the bottom of a lake before being captured.
EPS22
Rahl sends all his Mord'sith to kill Richard and they strike just as he assembles the Box of Orden. A magic explosion swallows Richard, Zedd is burned to a crisp and Kahlan taken prisoner for Rahl, who wants to make her his queen.
