In 1626, King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, ordered the building of the Vasa. It took designers and builders two years to create the massive ship. In order to rule the Baltic Sea, the king, demanded more and more cannons to be placed on the Vasa. Against better judgment from his architects and ship builders the King demanded his ship built by his design. Creation and building continued. The Vasa set sail on August,10th, 1628. The ship sailed about a mile away fro the dock and a good stiff breeze came along and knocked the ship sideways. Taking on too much water, and then she promptly sank. The 1858 Bradford sweets poisoning was the arsenic poisoning of more than 200 people in Bradford, England, when sweets accidentally made with arsenic were sold from a market stall. Twenty-one victims died as a result.
