He starts by diagnosing the illogical confession pathologically invalid, then helps finding better suspects, strikingly fitting his anagrams and various 'intuition', while fighting off specters of his imagination is harder. The FBI is trying to find a serial killer who was last active 26 years who appears to be active again. One of his victims from 26 years ago was so traumatized that she was placed in a psych ward. But Daniel thinks that the doctors misdiagnosed her and that she can help them. Problem is that she thinks it's 26 years ago and that she's still a teen. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com

While Pearce reads the newspaper, he sees a cryptographer who tells him that there's a secret message in the paper. Pearce looks at a letter sent to the editor and sees something and goes to Kate. The message says that he killed someone and four more will follow. Initially she's not sure but they get word that a lawyer was killed. They assume that it may have had something to do with one of his cases but can't find it. So Daniel decides that he should send a letter saying he's a fan of the one who sent the letter. The guy responds but when Pearce assumption of the man's motivation is wrong, the man cuts off contact. But the cryptographer shows up again and points Daniel in the right direction. Kate approaches Daniel and asks for his help. It seems like a psychiatrist who was going to testify against a crooked insurance company was murdered. So she arranged for Daniel to act as a special master to go through the man's files to see if there's anything that can help with the case against the insurance company. Daniel wonders why she's not working on the man's murder; she says she's been ordered not go near it. Daniel goes through the files and finds what she needs but also thinks he knows why the man was killed; it seems he was trying a new treatment on his patients. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com

Kate wants to impress a new boss and asks Dan to evaluate a young man who's been accused of stalking a federal judge. The judge earlier remanded the young man for treatment as a schizophrenic. When Daniel evaluates the kid as harmless only to have the judge stabbed to death hours later, Kate is told to leave the case alone but Daniel is convinced that the kid is not responsible. Pierce thinks that one of his students didn't write the paper he submitted. So he tells Haley who doesn't want to jump the gun. Pierce thinks it's because the student is an athlete. Haley gets a call who tells Pierce, his concern needs to wait because a student was killed. So Kate goes and they try to find out who wanted to kill her. Pierce gets the student to admit he didn't write the paper which means he'll be expelled but when he has a seizure Pierce learns why he was unable to do his schoolwork and tries to get him help. He then tries to find out who wrote the student's paper and with Lewicki's help discovers who it is. And learns he's written dozens of papers. And he did it with the help of a drug that was developed on campus for the Department of Defense so that soldiers can stay awake longer. Problem is that it also led to fits of rage.
