Six months after the shooting of Des Courtney, the Doyles are at a graveyard mass when Mal's estranged brother-in-law (Angus Macfadyen) arrives in desperate need of help. It turns out his son, Rory (Martin McCann), has fled to St. John's after getting himself in trouble with some gangsters back in Dublin, and he needs the Doyles to find him before the wrong people do. But when Jake finally does track Rory down, he finds himself becoming an accomplice in Rory's armed robbery of an underground casino. Now that Rory has even more gangsters after him, Jake has to figure out what his cousin is really up to; all while Mal wrestles with his longstanding resentment of his brother-in-law, stemming from something that happened when Jake's mother passed away. Amongst the family drama, Jake goes to the police station to talk to Leslie, only to find that her desk has been cleared out. A sticky situation arises when a convict (Joris Jarsky) becomes handcuffed to an innocent patient at the hospital and makes an escape through the window. Following clues left by Vince's unwilling accomplice, Jake and Mal track Vince down, only to find out there may just be something to his claims of innocence after all. A recovering drug addict (Gordon Miller) comes forward and admits he was forced to frame Vince for drug trafficking by Taylor Gossard (Joel Thomas Hynes) a dangerous Oxy dealer. But when Billy turns up dead, the Doyles wonder if a doctor at the community outreach centre (Erin Karpluk) might somehow be the key to unraveling the plot against Vince.While pursuing Taylor, Jake ends up walking right into the conspicuously absent Leslie, who he discovers is investigating Taylor for the RNC. The Doyles are approached by a man (Sean Baek) who says his wife (Sonya Salomaa) has been dead for two years and has just resurfaced in a photo in the newspaper. The team is tasked with tracking her down, but when they find her living under an assumed name and living a new life, the whole situation becomes even more tangly; especially for Jake, who ends up tied up and at the wrong end of a knife - held by the very woman heÃs been hired to find. Can Jake fight his way out of his restraints in time to figure out if the woman is trying to hide ñ or trying to escape?While undercover, Leslie starts to earn the trust of Oxy dealer Taylor Gossard (Joel Thomas Hynes). In fact, he Ãs offering to cut her into the business by getting her to move merchandise for him. Meanwhile, Kathleen finds Tinny with a photo of her convict father (Paul Gross) and becomes worried.
