Experienced Detective Sorjonen wants to leave the big city to spend more time with his wife and teen-aged daughter. The memories of nasty crimes in the city haunt him. His new co-workers slowly adjust to his ways of analyzing crimes.

As the murder investigation continues some of the officials in this town are concerned that it may paint a bad picture for their plans to develop the area. The investigation into the original murder now widens to include a missing girl who knew the original victim. In addition, the missing person's mother becomes involved.
