He captures and locks the three men in his cellar, threatening to hang them unless one confesses. When Nick is fingered as the guilty party, he must escape with the rancher's wife to save both their lives. Hunted down by the rancher and his men, he must risk his life and the life of his horse for the woman, who may not be the victim she appeared. This episode marks the end of the on-screen career for Cocoa, Nick's faithful gelding, a chocolate palomino. While returning to Stockton,Victoria and Jarrod stop in a town with outrageous prices for food,lodging and services. After finding out the people are bilking travelers to survive,the Barkley's decide to open a shipping business to save the town-despite opposition from a territorial boss with a rival freight company in the area.
