Eric Forrester comes home to his wife, Stephanie, asking why she wasn't at the showing of his latest line. Adding insult to injury, she's even wearing a dress from another designer. He tells her the marriage has gone stale. Stephanie asks, Who is she? Then she answers her own question: his personal assistant, Margo Lynley. Eric insists there is no other woman. The conversation is interrupted by their son, Ridge, who has brought Caroline Spencer over to make an announcement. The two of them are getting married. Meanwhile, Ridge is anxious -- anxious is the word -- to find out how Caroline's father will react to the news... It marks the twentieth year of Forrester Creations. And it's shaping up to be another wild success. That's what his younger son, Thorne, believes. But his elder son, Ridge, is less than happy about the new line. It's flat. It doesn't turn him on. Ridge's dissatisfaction turns to irritation when Bill Spencer, the father of Caroline, a woman--but not the only woman--Ridge is dating, shows up at Ridge's office and demands that he break off his relationship with her. Ridge ignores him and sees Caroline that night. His attempt to seduce her fails: she's saving herself for the man she marries. Impulsively, Ridge asks her to marry him... Ridge receives a call from his old flame Alex Simpnson who convinces him to go out on date upon her return to Los Angeles. Caroline talks Bill into giving Ridge a chance. Bill then unsuccessfully tries to reach Conway Weston. He leaves a message to call off the investigation on the P.I.'s answering machine. An overjoyed Katie returns home from her date with Rocco. Eric urges Stephanie to come clean with Kristen. Caroline daydreams about her wedding. Ridge manages to have Thorne cover for him at Forrester Creations and takes off the Café Russe where he meets Alex. Alex gets Ridge to reminisce about all the good times they had together. Thorne calls Caroline for a date. He later calls again because he heard that Ridge is also having a date with Caroline. Brookes takes this call and tells Thorne to go ahead with his date. She does not tell Caroline about this call. Manipulating them. Beth scolds her for switching men and manipulating Caroline. Ridge prepares to meet Caroline who was busy kissing Thorne. Caroline sees some old newspaper clips about Ridge in Brooke's drawers but disregards and destroys. Rocco visits Ridge at office. Dave consults Storm about the Forresters.
