With the boy's life hanging in the balance, the team starts to realize there is more to the family dynamic than meets the eye. His presence in the emergency room sparks sharp conversation and disagreements among the staff over the highly-charged topic and even close friends Kenny and Paul find themselves at odds. Topher does his best to control the mounting chaos in the ER while out in the field, TC makes a decision as to which of two patients to bring in, leaving Paul and Scott to question TC's motives. Drew tries to help but runs afoul of their unique family dynamic. Paul and Shannon put aside their differences to treat a patient and find they have more in common than they thought. Everything changes when TC suddenly realizes he may know the person responsible for the explosion. T.C.s team rushes to help the victims of a construction site crane collapse, but it's too late for first generation college boy Jalen, whose mother refuses to free his organs for urgent donor use until Paul finds the right angle. T.C. meanwhile risks his life rescuing from quicksand the promising of three local bothersome brothers and pushes him to make the second chance count all his life. Scott is a nervous wreck when the boy his car crash put in a wheelchair needs surgery, and his father, who refuses to let him operate, unexpectedly too but urgently. Written by KGF Vissers

TC reeling from the fate of the hospital and Jessica's part in it, goes to a bar and drinks a lot and Drew goes with him. When a guy picks on Drew, TC steps in and hits the guy. They both get arrested. Drew tries to call but the police won't let him. And the hospital tries to call him because Briana is getting her lung. Jordan goes out with a guy she met along with Shannon and Paul and when he faints, Shannon thinks she knows what's wrong with him but Jordan doesn't think so. So they bring him to the hospital and they learn Shannon is right and someone shows up looking for him, who reveals to Jordan who she is dating. And Scott upon learning this, acts smugly till Jordan asks him if he told Annie about what happened to them. And a woman comes in with a problem and Topher treats her, and he assumes what's wrong with her but she says that's not it and that she's been to other doctors who assumed the same thing.
