Four cowboys ride into the town of Heart's Desire, population 300 to recover some cash they've hidden there. One of them, Frank Kelton, is particularly ornery. He has a chip on his shoulder, hates the town sheriff from the days they were at school together and is just plain mad at the world. An encounter with an alien being gives him - and eventually the other three - the power to destroy anything just by wishing it so. In a future world that has been destroyed in a nuclear holocaust, Aiden Hunter lives in a sealed house by himself. For company, he has created a number of holographic images - his parents, old friends, attractive women - to converse with and keep him company. He even has a special sensory chamber where he can actually have physical contact with them. His favorite however is Emma, his computer's graphical user interface and admits that is probably because Emma wasn't his creation. After spending the night together in his sensory chamber Emma begins to develop feelings for him. He shrugs it off at first but as Emma becomes more possessive they are soon involved in a battle to determine who is in charge. Written by garykmcd

A slow janitor, Karl, is befriended by his employer, a brilliant scientist who is dying of cancer. The older man decides that his various talents should not be allowed to die with him and convinces the young man to push the green button. This single act downloads the scientists experiences and self into the mind of Karl. At first, the personalities work together as symbiotes. The scientist is not finished with just his download, however, and continues to download other minds into Karl's brain. The strain of the extra personalities warring in his mind begin to cause problems. Several deaths, including the mad scientist's, have detectives looking into the issue as well. Written by Anonymous

Rebecca and Graham Highfield grieve after their young son Justin is killed in an accident. Graham thinks he has a solution however and asks Dr. Lucy Cole to retrieve some of Justin's brain and spinal cord cells with a view to having their son cloned. Rebecca is concerned by the proposal but eventually agrees. As her pregnancy progresses, she begins to have memory flashes where she sees things through Justin's eyes. Her doctor dismisses the idea that it's related to the pregnancy but Rebecca realizes she can communicate directly with the fetus. Carol and Frank Martin welcome their college age son Danny who brings his girlfriend Jade home for dinner. Frank is stunned to see that Jade is the spitting image of a woman, Laura, that he rescued from a military lab experiment 20 years ago. He assumes she is Laura's daughter but that isn't the case - she's the same woman, who hasn't aged in many years. The scientist who conducted the original experiments, Dr. Lawrence Sinclair, is also looking for her and will go to great lengths to get what he wants from her. Written by garykmcd

In a future world, nearly all humans have an embedded neural connection to a massive computer system known as the Stream. One exception to that is Ryan Unger who cannot be connected to the net because of a childhood accident that damaged his neurological system. By the standards of the time, Ryan is an imbecile relying on reading books for information while the majority simply having to think it. When a virus starts to kill some of them however, it's Ryan who concludes that it is coming from the Stream itself and all attempts to stop it will be unsuccessful. In the future, most of humanity is sterile as a result of chemical warfare. As the years go buy children born before the catastrophe age normally and teacher Sherry McAllister is now out of a job. She also finds herself pregnant and knows that the few women who given birth since the black rain have had horribly mutated children. Tests reveal however that none of the genetic markers suggesting mutation are to be found and she may be carrying the first normal fetus in 10 years. Sherry and her husband Tim move into a government-run facility run by Dr. Royce and a few months later she gives birth to a normal and perfectly healthy baby boy. For 12 generations, humans have been held in a prison camp working in an antiquated fuel processing plant. They're surviving but not much more. Rations are continually being cut and the camp commander doesn't hesitate to execute anyone who steps out of line. Prisoner No. 98843 keeps many of the plant's electronic system in working order. She begins to speak out demanding better food and medical care. The commandant agrees on the condition that she not reveal their greatest secret - they are androids and in need of repair. After crash landing on an alien world, John Virgil conducts an exterior examination of the spacecraft. He is bitten by a spider-like creature but manages to get back into the airlock. He awakens to find himself in a hospital with his wife and son anxiously by his bedside. It's all an hallucination however when he realizes he's still on board the ship. His colleague Dr. Vasquez tells him the hallucinations are the result of the spider venom but as he flashes back and forth between the hospital and the spaceship, he can't distinguish which is real. Beth Carter was born with a condition that renders her completely without any emotions. Her doctor, Steven Molstad proposes that she undergo experimental brain surgery where an implant should give her the normal range of emotions found in all human beings. At first the surgery seems to have succeeded with Beth experiencing laughter, sadness and impatience for the first time. After three months she out of the hospital living with Joan Garrison, has a job and is trying to adjust to normal life. She begins to hears strange sounds and muffled voices and after an odd neighbor mentions being an alien abductee, she actually sees aliens in her apartment. Dr. James Houghton and Dr. Charles McCamber have developed a technique to reanimate cryogenically preserved bodies. They know from their experiments with animals that the revival will last a couple of days at best. Their first success with a human, Oscar Reynolds, struggles and indicates he would have preferred to have been left dead. Houghton is fanatical however and takes extraordinary measures to keep Reynolds alive. After Houghton is shot dead by a mugger in the parking lot, McCamber re-animates him. Knowing he only has a short time available to him, Houghton decides to spend time with his family. Dr. Martin Nodel, a geneticist of some repute, believes he has made a major breakthrough in genetic engineering. His experiments on small animals have provided advances in evolution and now it only remains for him to test it on humans. He has no authority from the university to do so and therefore injects himself. The changes come rapidly. Physically, a large, triangle-like blister develops in the palm of his hand. Blisters also form on his back and it appears to be a map. He launches a special study program for eight of his brightest students. Ben Conklin is a last-minute replacement for a long-term isolation assignment. He's advised by General James Eiger that, some time ago, long range probes identified an alien force heading directly for Earth. In the event they should lose any battle with the aliens, they have arranged for a self-destruct mechanism to destroy all life on the planet. The system will automatically fire, giving Conklin 30 seconds to hit the kill switch. Eiger tells him that if they succeed, they will dig him out in about a year's time; if they don't appear, he should assume the worst. Conklin learns that there are four others in different locations around the world who can also stop the doomsday device from firing. For most of the year, not much happens. Conklin becomes friendly with Katya Rubinov, but when his counterparts start to die, he considers letting the timer count down. Written by garykmcd

Working in the lab at his university, student Devon Taylor records what he believes is a radio signal from outer space. His professor dismisses it, but when he takes the recording home, his younger sister Joyce listens to it for hours on end in a state of euphoria. The recording seems to have the same effect on all of her friends. When a group of them are found listening to what they say is music, it's apparent that they have also begun to mutate. As far as the government and the military are concerned, this constitutes an alien attack on the Earth. Doctors, including Devon and Joyce's father, work tirelessly to find a cure. Becka Paulson lives a boring life in a trailer with her mailman husband Joe. After accidentally shooting herself in the head she begins hearing voices. She has no memory of shooting herself but can see the wound on her forehead. Her husband suggests that she visit the local vet - he's cheaper than seeing a doctor - but he can't help her. Becka soon realizes that she can now now do things she couldn't really do before and that her brain function and intelligence have improved. The commander of the UNAS Meridien, Captain William Clark finds himself on trial after all members of die. The testimony against him is stark. The commander of the rescue vessel says Clark was agitated when they found him but none of the other crew were alive. The prosecution argues he was suffering from space psychosis owing to the length of his assignment. Clark claims that his crew were lured to their deaths by images of people who were close to them and his lawyer, his ex-wife Robin Dysart, suggests a leak syroxin gas could have induced psychoses in those that died. Clark wants to get to the truth however and firmly believes there is an alien aboard the space station. Written by garykmcd

Joshua Haywood is a single parent who has his hands full with his daughter Sarah who wants to elope with her motorcycle driving boyfriend. They wake up one morning to find that there is no electricity, water or telephone service. When Joshua tries to leave their suburban neighborhood, he finds their way is blocked by an electrical field of some kind. Sarah has plans to run off but she meets an alien creature who is dying and she too is infected. Joshua eventually learns the truth: their entire neighborhood has been carried off to a distant planet to see if humans would be suitable as slave labor.
