In a packed edition of the show, Tony visits Eden Valley in Cumbria where he makes a steep ascent to the limestone-paved Great Asby Scar - evidence of a 300 million-year-old tropical sea. He oversees a dramatic rescue operation by the local mountain rescue team and sniffs a beautiful orchid before seeing how 21st-century technology is driving the work of a traditional dairy and having a go at milking a Jersey cow. After learning how to make a Cumberland Sausage, Tony travels on a working mid-century bus that isn't just a tourist attraction but provides a vital lifeline for rural communities that have lost other transport links. The presenter and history buff has a go at rounding up sheep with a sheepdog before climbing up to investigate the huge, prehistoric, dry-stone cairns of Nine Standards Rigg which dominate the local skyline.
