The staff at Valco are worried when rivals Lauda open up nearby. Lauda's staff are in advertising, and their new store Manager Cheryl has a big impact on Gavin. An old face returns with a new job.

The launch of new discount store Lauder a few doors away from Valco has resulted in the store being empty and so Gavin and Daniel make a plan of action to get their customers back. Also a familiar face returns to Valco.

Gavin's boss Brendan pays the store a visit, annoyed by Gavin allowing Lauda to open up nearby. Brendan, Gavin and Daniel hatch a plan to undercut the competition, but Cheryl is once again up to the challenge.

Linda runs into an old boyfriend, upsetting Neville. Meanwhile Charlie discovers that Daniel was a contestant on the X-Factor.
