Bobby tells Dean and Sam that Castiel has stolen the Moishe Campbell Diary, but he has a copy. They read the journal and discover that in 1937, H.P. Lovecraft had opened a gate to Purgatory with five worshipers of the devil. Meanwhile Crowley abducts Lisa and Ben to force Dean and Sam to step back. Sam summons Balthazar and the angel is surprised with the revelations about the partnership of Castiel with Balthazar. While Dean and Sam seek out Lisa and Ben, Bobby investigates what happened in 10 March 1937 and discovers the truth about his friend Ellie. Balthazar brings Dean and Sam to an angel-proofed warehouse where Lisa and Ben are captive. When Dean is ready to rescue them, he discovers that Lisa is possessed by a demon. Kiera visits her friend Elena's grave only to find that someone has removed her body. She assumes it has to have been taken by someone who knew she was from the future. She learns that an Agent Warren from Section 6 has already retrieved the two Liber8 bodies from the morgue and shipped them to an unknown destination. Meanwhile, Julian Randol's trial is set to begin. Kiera sees Sonya at the courthouse but she manages to elude. Kiera detects that one of the jurors is acting strangely and thinks Sonya may have gotten to him. Alec is upset when his mother lies on the witness stand. He's scheduled to testify the next day and must now choose between lying for his family or telling the truth. Jim Martin gets a visit from Travis who threatens and reminds him of what they expect from him when he becomes mayor. After sleeping with Alec, Emily receives a visitor. Kiera finds herself working with Carlos on a murder case, the work of a serial killer. She's not entirely unfamiliar with the case as she had studied it in 2077. One thing she knows is that the case was never solved despite there being a total of 38 victims. She knows the victims were all child molesters and that the bodies were left on an old semi-circular bus route. As she tries to convey this to Carlos, he simply can't understand where she is getting her information. Meanwhile, Alec's relationship with his new friend Emily seems to be developing quite nicely. Carlos finds himself investigating the murder of a woman he slept with the night before her death. He had received a call from an old friend, Jim Martin, who was having an argument with journalist Alicia Fuentes. Carlos knew Alicia, picked her up and after dinner spent most of the night at her apartment. When they find her dead the next morning, he tells no one, not even Kiera, that he was there until about 1:30. Martin is running for election as the head of the local dock workers union on a platform of cleaning up the union's corrupt practices. Alec meanwhile is trying to fix Kiera's suit and with some of its capability restored, she gets a lead on the killer. The killer: Stuart Fletcher, a paramedic. The victim: Graeme Jenkins, who died in a skydiving accident when his parachute did not open as the cords were cut on both chutes. After the autopsy, Betty determines that Jenkins would have soon died anyway as he was in the later stages of terminal lung cancer, leading to the initial possible belief that he committed suicide. Graeme's wife, Ingrid Jenkins, is able to confirm Graeme was going through an ordered bucket list, skydiving only the most recent activity, but as his life insurance policy did cover his death by cancer that there was no reason why he would have wanted to end his life prematurely via suicide. A chance statement by Graeme prior to the jump about his lucky number leads to a series of clues as to at least a visual identification of the possible killer, who seems to be using the assumed name of John Turner.
