When local preacher's daughter and aspiring cosmetologist Allison Hines marries Chris Walker and moves with him to his family's pig farm in Adairville, Kentucky, the young bride seems excited to embark on a new chapter in her life. But before she has a chance to settle into her new home, Chris springs an unwelcome surprise on her - his ne'er-do-well brother George is moving in with them. And from that point on, Allison's dreams of wedded bliss evaporate under mounting tensions in her marriage and her increasingly isolated life on the farm. Despite her growing unhappiness, Allison remains committed to her marriage. But when Allison mysteriously vanishes from the farm just days before Christmas, her family and friends can't make sense of it. And days later, when the disturbing truth about Allison's disappearance comes to light, it raises more questions than answers.
