A female acquaintance of Steve is in town to give a lecture, and is accompanied by her eight-year-old daughter Jeannie (Morgan Brittany). Steve (Fred MacMurray) offers to babysit the cute little girl, anticipating that she will be entertained by his boys. When it turns out that everyone else, including Bub, have made other plans, Steve is put in the rather awkward position of having to amuse an eight-year-old girl, himself. In the end, young Jeannie is able to warmly bond with the entire Douglas male household. This is a new and rewarding experience for her as her parents are divorced and she has been used to living with just one parent at a time. Written by Ken Gorman
