After years of marriage to unambitious taxi driver Gary,Lisa wants a divorce and Gary,who had never thought anything was wrong,is shocked. Neither is willing to move out of the house so he lives on the ground floor and he lives upstairs in an antagonistic relationship. Still hopeful to win Lisa back Gary is dismayed when he finds that she has started Internet dating and finds a date of his own,though it turns out to be a disaster. Finally realising what he has thrown away Gary makes a speech to Lisa's new date,extolling her virtues. And,as the house is finally sold, the couple at least know that they can be friends.
