Lieutenant Gene Hunt 'steals' a bank-robbery case in the neighboring precinct after its boss, his longstanding rival Anthony Nunzio, took over the case of a man about to commit suicide and actually made him jump on Hunt's turf. The robber accidentally shoots a passerby in the street and is identified as Soviet Ukrainian illegal immigrant Yuri Demidov. He was blackmailed by Russian gangster Vasilli Lukin, from Nunzio's turf, so the case requires cooperation.
