After Leo is attacked Nikki accuses Sean of not doing his job whilst Jack,examining the skull he found,discovers that the bullet was shot from a British gun. Back in England Scott tells Clarissa that Sean was Daniel's bullying section commander. Leo is angry when Nikki is side-tracked into wanting Sean punished for killing a prisoner and reminds her why they are in Afghanistan. He grows closer to Fawzia,who considers returning to London with him. Jack works out that the skull and bones are not the remains of Daniel and indeed that he may still be alive,seeking revenge on the person who left him to die.As the case is resolved Fawzia prepares for the opening of the water project but evil forces are at work and not everybody present will survive what happened next. The team goes to Afghanistan at the request of sergeant Scott Lambert to see if human remains found at a charity water supply project are those of his brother Daniel,missing for five years and presumed murdered by the Taliban. On arrival in the country they encounter a road block and land mine and Jack's mistrust of the army does not go down well with ex-military man Sean,who heads the private security force. Nikki finds some bones but her examination is interrupted by a Taliban attack,repulsed by Scott's men. Project leader Fawzia believes it was motivated by opposition to Western influences,exacerbated by the pathologists' arrival. Fawzia shows Leo a ruined building where Daniel was apparently imprisoned and Jack finds proof of his being shot in the back of the head. Nikki however worries herself over the treatment of the Taliban prisoners,who include an English fanatic,after one of them is killed by Sean and his death made to resemble suicide. She and Smurf are flown back to Britain for home leave, Molly meeting Smurf's mother, still grieving for his dead brother. To the concern of her colleagues Molly gets close to Bashira. The platoon visits a village where Taliban invaders have captured children and the village elders claim that the British presence is to blame. Molly notices that Bashira's father has injured her for talking to her and stitches her wound, after which Bashira warns Molly that the unit should not pursue the invaders into the mountains as they will be heading into a trap and Molly and Smurf convince James of this. As a result the platoon is successful in killing the enemy but Molly fears that Bashira is now compromised as her father is a Taliban sympathizer aware of what she did. Consequently the platoon mounts a rescue attempt to save Bashira and send her to a safe house. Molly is instrumental in this and is commended for her bravery. Written by don @ minifie-1
