SPOILER: The subject of Megan and Tommy's investigation is a girl who was found shot on the street. When they take her to the morgue they find that she has a gash on her stomach. They also find a letter and a tattoo which are written in a foreign language. Kate tries to get a translator but the D.A. denies her request because he fears that she's a prostitute and who knows who could have been her johns. He tells her to find another way. She then asks Sergei, a Ukranian, whom she met at a function where she's trying to drum up support for her campaign, and spent the night with. He translates and tells them that the language is Ukranian and the staff is curious about him. They learn she was pregnant, so they get the baby's DNA to find the father. Megan and Tommy learn that she was a sex slave by someone who held her captive. They learn that the father is a Ukranian businessman, who doesn't cop to anything.
