In Part 2 of a crossover story with Magnum, P.I. (both episodes are shown on the Murder DVD, although not consecutively), Magnum has shot it out with a hired gunman at a party, killing him. Magnum claims the thug had fired several shots at him, including one just before Magnum returned fire. But the police can't find the gunman's weapon, and furthermore he was shot in the back. An overzealous police captain calls it murder one (huh?) and throws Magnum into the cooler pending trial. Jessica searches the crime scene and finds a shell casing which doesn't match Magnum's gun, fitting Magnum's theory. A horrified Higgins realizes that a gun similar to Magnum's -- and with a silencer, at that -- stolen from Robin Masters' collection could well be the murder weapon. The police captain won't give up, and puts out a fugitive warrant on Magnum when a second murder occurs in the same fashion as the first. Written by Peter Harris

Season 5 episode 16 The Lost Island is actually two episodes, part 1 and part 2. In part 1: the OSI agency loses one of its satellites, which crashes on a remote ocean island, and is now cracked and leaking neutron radiation which is negatively affecting the other-worldly humanoids that inhabit the island and electromagnetically cloak it in invisibility. A decision is made by the aliens to send Da Nay, a young alien woman, to the U.S. to find and bring back a serum that will boost the aliens' immunity and thus allow all the aliens to leave the island and survive with the human population. In part 2: Da Nay (Robin Mattson, who plays Heather Webber from the General Hospital soap opera) obtains the serum and returns to the island, where Steve Austin has found a way in past the protective barriers. Spoiler: Arta (Tony Geary, who plays Luke Spencer from the General Hospital soap opera), one of the radiation-influenced young male aliens who feels a somewhat barbaric attraction to Da Nay... General Goldman, Lt. Goldman's father, is on base on a fact-finding mission. He agrees that Myron has disobeyed orders by withdrawing rather than advancing against his better judgment toward what appeared to be a burned-out NVA facility. It turned out that the NVA were dug in a bit further on the trail. A pal of Ruiz tripped a wire and was killed. He was high on heroin. Sent to chill out with Sgt. Ecksley in supply, Ruiz discovered that Ecksley was selling Army goods in the black market and enabling soldiers to score heroin through the local drug lord.
