At the hospital, Toby and Olivia share a romantic interlude before he has to leave for the IIB. Moments after his departure, Oz rushes in with a critically ill patient. Two other men stagger in with similar symptoms, bleeding from the nose and eyes and ranting about someone trying to kill them. Sandy jumps in to assist with the triage. When one of the men goes into spasms, they lose him. Stunned by the bizarre event, Olivia immediately orders the hospital be locked down. A decontamination unit is assembled as Dr. Julian Hennessey from public health, and Dr. Marette, a biomed scientist, confer with Olivia, confirming it seems like an outbreak of hemorrhagic fever. She immediately calls Toby to alert him of the situation and possible symptoms in case he was infected. Michelle and Dev pursue intel on the dead man to see if they can help track patient zero. Toby and Oz are dispatched to a used car lot where a salesman, Claude, suffers from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. This attempted suicide plus two more recent suicide victims are all linked to a defunct biker gang known as the Demon Saints, whose former leader, Luke Cassel, is one of the country's highest paid contract killers. Cassel tells Michelle that he had warned Claude that someone had been killing off the former gang members. When another member dies from an apparent suicide, surveillance footage catches the same woman from the used car lot, Liz, in the vicinity. Michelle and Dev agree to detain Liz after questioning, but Michelle oddly releases her. Unable to explain her actions, Michelle tells Toby that Liz may have gotten inside her head. When Toby follows Liz she manages to get him in her thrall. He knows she has a special gift of her own and uses her abilities to seek retribution against the former gang members, apparently responsible for her family's deaths... The IIB is alerted when Internet whistle-blower Gregory Wassermann threatens to go public with a vast release of sensitive government documents. A public broadcast debate on government transparency between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Diane Feeny, and her political adversary, Dennis Thorpe, is interrupted by a sex video released via the Internet. The video features Diane and a male co-star, whom Michelle and Dev identify as Tyler Rooker, an escort who has since disappeared from the agency he worked for. When the IIB captures and interrogates Wassermann, Toby sees critical evidence linking Wassermann to a mysterious woman. Toby extracts Tyler's whereabouts from the escort agency and, after Michelle questions Tyler, Toby sees the same woman linked to the Internet leaker. Michelle and Toby come to realize the suspect responsible for the security breach might be closer than anybody suspects.
