In Rita's English class, the eccentric Gerd appears and insists on participating in the class. Rita spots an opportunity to earn money for a much-needed bathroom for the pupils. Uffe wants to treat the always-stressed Hjørdis to a romantic dinner but is stood up - only for Pil to appear instead. Heartbroken, Jeppe tries to make himself meet someone new and goes on a date with awkward farmer Ole. Rasmus and Rita throw a birthday party for boarding pupil Jørgen and are finally confronted by their feelings for each other.

Alone back at the house, all the men unite: Niels has dropped Jeppe off and wants to go back to London but discovers that Jeppe has written him off. Niels decides to fight to become a better father. Uffe flirts with Pil and is overcome with guilt. Rasmus realizes that he may not be as over Rita as he thought he was.
