At a Save the Throck meeting Brian meets the beautiful Effandra and, when Howell accidentally releases a fire sprite with the ability to grant one wish, Brian wants to use it to return home with Effandra. Howell also wants it to escape the wrath of Slasher Morgan but when Effandra's sickly pet throck, Mr Wuffles, needs healing, Brian decides to do the altruistic thing and save it. Brian hopes to infiltrate the vault where the amulet is kept by taking Howell's charisma potion which will allow him to charm the fairies into letting him take it. Howell in return wants Brian to retrieve the Necromancer's book of spells. However the plot falls apart when the potion wears off and Brian is beaten up by the fairies and thrown out. The women hire a night club for an ambitious sales event though Brian is not happy that Russell will be modelling a thong and bribes him to back down whilst Steph, living apart from Terry, is also displeased to find that Pauline lied to her and confronts her regarding Johnny's paternity. Similarly aggrieved is Barry on finding out about his wife and Terry. Come the big night Kieren makes a confession to the police, alienating Pauline and Nita, who goes into labour backstage. However these are strong women and, whatever happens, they will support each other, ensuring the show's and their friendship's success whilst Pauline has a change of heart regarding Johnny. Three weeks have passed and Nita's son Richie has gone missing with his father's share of the stolen money. However Nita and Kieren join the others for Dawn and Russell's wedding. At the registry office Steph gives Terry some home truths having learned that Lisa is pregnant, most likely by him, but at the reception Brian is a hero, not only acting as father of the bride to give away a grateful Dawn but buying off her real father, the hateful Len, who arrives demanding to take back Stanley.
