In the library, Jill bumps into Laurie Tindell, the dream girl he never really knew in high school, and immediately gets a date. Audrey panics when the director decides she must sing a solo, while she can't even read from a music sheet, gets faked support from Jack and blows it completely, unable to utter a syllable; by comparison with a failed exam of his, her silent admirer Barto encourages her to hang on, and it works.
