Joon Hee takes the homeless Jan Di off the streets by making her a guest of the mansion. Since Jan Di insists in earning her keep, Joon Hee (with designs on helping Joon Pyo escape the predictable fate of their mother's characteristic machinations) gets Jan Di hired on as a maid. The formidable Head Maid, in turn, makes Jan Di the personal servant of Joon Pyo. As first stunned by this development, Joon Pyo soon takes advantage of it, making Jan Di apt to react in un-maidly-like manners. Yi Jung, inadvertently through Ga Eul, reconnects with first love Eun Jae, for which Ga Eul has a few choice words for him. Noticing Dr. Yoon's health issues, Jan Di works to bring reconciliation between him and Ji Hoo by moving Dr. Yoon into Ji Hoo's house. Written by statmanjeff

Jan Di and Ga Eul come to the aid of Ji Hoo and Yi Jung, respectively, as both boys suffer, one from an emotional confrontation and the other from overindulgence. Losing a bet, Joon Pyo becomes Jae Kyung's servant for a day, which entails grocery shopping for Jan Di. As Jan Di's return isn't till well past dawn, Joon Pyo berates her, which prompts her to stand up to his scolding by confronting his lame play at independence. Hee Soo, meanwhile, discovering her son's been with Jan Di again, has her goons manhandle him back home, but she's not done. As Ji Hoo, upon learning that Jan Di's taken a smaller apartment, visits along with Yi Jung, Woo Bin and Ga Eul to give her a proper housewarming, Hee Soo arrives to browbeat Jan Di with another personal downgrading, additionally telling them all to leave her son alone. With Joon Pyo apparently out of the picture, Ji Hoo continues to woo Jan Di through lots of personal time together, but what exactly is up with Joon Pyo remains a question. Jan Di herself carries mixed feelings over what to do or how to feel about him (which emotionally influences her time with Ji Hoo). Invitations to Joon Pyo's formal birthday party come suddenly from multiple directions, all aiming to get Jan Di to attend in order to force the issue and gauge Joon Pyo's reactions. Of all people, Hee Soo affords Jan Di the manner by which to release her remnant feelings for Joon Pyo at his party, but Hee Soo then stuns the entire gathering with a surprising announcement. Still in Macau, China, Ji Hoo, Yi Jung and Woo Bin finally contrive to see Joon Pyo, who firmly makes it plain he's outgrown them and Jan Di. As a favor to a friend, Ji Hoo privately asks that he meet Jan Di one last time. He does, but their reunion is cold. It would seem their relationship has run its course, but in private Joon Pyo chafes badly. His undisclosed Devil's bargain with Hee Soo, for Jan Di's sake, leaves him deprived of love and friends, and festering. Unaware of Joon Pyo's severe personal sacrifice, Ji Hoo revitalizes Jan Di with a day-long tour of city pleasures. With the passing of Chairman Goo, Joon Pyo takes over Shin Hwa Group's latest resort project in Macau, China. Time has passed, putting the F4 boys at the college level, but still without word from Joon Pyo. In the interim, Ji Hoo becomes a secret benefactor to Jan Di's struggling family, getting them custodial jobs. Concerned over her ailing shoulder, Ji Hoo takes Jan Di to the hospital where they discover that an untreated injury sustained from protecting Joon Pyo at her kidnapping has ended her ability to swim. The boys cheer her spirits and help her raise money to go see Joon Pyo in Macau, but the trip proves to be not an entirely welcoming experience. Written by statmanjeff
