The elaborate preparation, including soothing messages to the parents mentioning Friday, convince the team it's the work of a local, who plausibly plans something relating to the football game, a long-awaited finale. This leaves various suspects to be eliminated, and it looks like the kidnapper planted false forensic material to incriminate innocent men.
