Based on Terry Pratchett's popular Discworld series of fantasy adventure novels. Naïve tourist Twoflower (Sean Astin, "Lord of the Rings") is on holiday in Ankh-Morpork. A fire breaks out, and he flees the city with an incompetent wizard named Rincewind (Sir David Jason, "Hogfather"). The pair sets out on a magical journey, unaware that the Archchancellor of the Unseen University is trying to track them down to recapture a powerful spell in Rincewind's head.
It's Hogswatch (equivalent to Christmas) on the Discworld and the Hogfather has gone missing, requiring Death to take his place while his granddaughter Susan endeavors to find out what has happened.
Filmed at a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden, comedian Kevin Hart delivers material from his 2012 "Let Me Explain" concert tour.
Sophie is snatched from her orphanage early one morning by the B.F.G. (Big Friendly Giant), whom she witnesses engaged in mysterious activities, and whisked away to Giant Country. She is soon put at ease, as she learns that B.F.G.'s job is to collect, catalogue and deliver pleasant dreams to children. She joins him that night, but the mean giants follow them, planning to eat the children. Sophie enlists the help of the Queen, by making up a dream for her, and with the backing of the armed forces, they defeat the mean giants. Written by Cynan Rees cynanrees@hotmail.com
