The theme of the film is tribute to the single screen cinema halls that are rapidly becoming rare in India. Pranabendu Das is a retired film exhibitor from a small-town in West Bengal. He owns a movie theatre 'Kamalini' named after his separated wife. With the advancement of technology and the arrival of the digital medium, this man was compelled to let go of his theatre which projected films only on celluloid. Prakash is unperturbed by his father, Pranab's condition. He is an opportunist, who would never give morality a chance while making himself an established businessman. He sells pirated DVDs of feature films in the town. This is a father-son relationship tale weaved through the beautiful backdrop of cinema. Pranab has always maintained himself as a true Cinemawala, whereas, Prakash is also spreading films among the people, but in a way not so acceptable to his father.

The story of the film revolves around a cursed nightie which changes hands in a logical manner, not magically. The original owner of the nightie had experienced unfulfilled love, which ultimately led to a curse on it. A wannabe actress comes to Kolkata from a village in pursue of her career. She can cross all limits in order to become successful. She uses that nightie for seducing producers and she doesn't regret in what she is doing. The events that take place later form the climax of the story.

Arnab tries to help Ruksahana, who is found under mysterious circumstances in a house. He lets her stay at his home until he discovers something strange about her.

In Nepal, during a feast, a thirteen-year-old girl will meet a woman who is different from the ones in her village. That woman will make an offer to the girl's parents in order to let her take their daughter to another city, where she will be able to work as a kind of housekeeper.
