Adapted from the famous stage play of the same name, Devil And Angel (E Gun Tian Shi) follows Zha, played by Sun Li, a top student with a high IQ, who goes on a journey with Mo, played by famous Chinese comedy actor Deng Chao, a professional debt-collector and sometime hooligan, in order to face down her own neurosis, as well as cure Mo of his extreme insomnia.

The story starts because of one journey. Seven people who have never met before climb aboard the same ride that goes into a seemingly endless tunnel. Despite the countless trials, corpses that mysteriously appear, past acquaintances that returned from the dead and an unseen danger threatening to swallow them whole, it's as if they are trapped in an enclosed space where there is no escape.

Deng Chao plays Mei Yuangui, a professional "Breakup Guru", who is hired by a client to end a relationship with Ye Xiaochun (Yang Mi). But his penchant and skill at breaking up couples without complication and worry is put to the test when a battle of wits ensues with Xiaochun, risking his reputation and setting up the ultimate test of his services.
