Hank pays another visit to Lew's former love, Janie Jones. She tells him why she left Lew but when her husband enters, Hank has to hide and meets the maid. Stuck as he now is, he calls Karen to tell her he can't pick up Becca from school and starts a conversation with the maid. When he finds out Janie Jones' husband cheats on her with the maid, Hank, with the maid, confronts him. At Becca and Mia's school, Karen finds out Mia is dating Lew and she decides to tell Lew off about this. Meanwhile, Charlie sees Marcy off to her mother where she goes for a detox. After Karen left Bill standing at the altar, things finally are like they used to be: Hank and Karen are back together and so are Charlie and Marcy. Because he really hates condoms, Hank agrees to undergo a vasectomy. The operation goes well, but he can't have sex of any kind for the next 48 hours and his John Thomas hurts the rest of the day. Hank and Karen want to move back to New York, much to Rebecca's chagrin. Hank learns Mia published 'her' book after all. At a party, Hank makes an honest, but terrible mistake. A mute Karen doesn't want to bail Hank out of jail. Becca promises him to try to change her mind. In jail, Hank meets Lew Ashby, a record producer who really wants Hank to write his biography. After he was hard on Mia because she stole Hank's book, Dani gives Charlie a mean piece of her mind and goes to his boss and gets him fired. On Hank's first day as biographer to Lew Ashby, he's reintroduced to Trixie, who stirs up trouble by claiming that Hank is better in bed than Ashby. Becca grudgingly starts her first day at Mia's private school, where she meets an unexpected friend, Damien. Meanwhile, Charlie spots a porn actress named Daisy and pitches himself as her agent, Charlie hops a ride with Daisy only to realize that he's in the middle of an impromptu porn movie. After Hank proposed to Karen, they throw an, already planned, big dinner party for all their friends. Mia, Becca, Becca's new boyfriend Damian, Charlie and Marcy, Lew Ashby and Julian and Sonja are all invited. Lew brings Destiny, the woman Hank accidentally went down on, along, Charlie and Marcy are a tad horny because they're on drugs and Julian and Sonja have a mayor confession to make that ends up involving Hank. Because Karen gave back his ring, Hank has moved out and he now lives with Lew Ashby. When he sees television cook Chloe Metz on the TV, Hank tells Lew he can't stand Metz and at the same time he'd like to have sex with her. Lew promises Hank he'll arrange Metz so Hank can have some hate sex with her and forget about Karen. Meanwhile, a very upset Daisy tells Charlie and Marcy she has been blackballed, which means nobody hires her any more. Hank wants to find out more about Lew's long lost love and because Lew won't talk about it, he goes to her house and runs into her husband, who's not very pleased with snooping Hank. Later, at Lew's place, Hank finds Julian having sex with a woman who's definitely not Sonja. Hank takes a photo of the scene so he can prove Karen he was right about disliking Julian all along. Meanwhile, the location for Vaginatown fell through and Charlie - seeing no other options - has offered his house as the new set. Lew promises Hank never to have sex with Mia again but - not surprisingly - can't keep his promise. Genuinely feeling he hurt a friend, he gives Hank a guitar that has been played by Kurt Cobain. Hank and Karen go to a parent evening. The teacher is very positive about Becca and even more positive about Hank, whom she takes home with her. Something Hank soon regrets after finding out she's Damian's mother. Meanwhile, Marcy and Charlie take a desperate Daisy into their home. Unfortunately, her scruffy former manager (the guy from the sleazy porn film Charlie accidentally ruined) comes to Charlie and Marcy's place saying Daisy has a contract with him and she can't wriggle out of it. To unravel more of her secrets for his book, Hank goes on a date (although he himself doesn't consider it a date) with Janie Jones, Lew's long lost love, to an art exhibition. There, they run into Sonja and Julian. Lew invites Karen on a date and takes her to an amphitheatre where a band is playing just for them. Marcy's not at her mother's, but at a rehab center to get the coke monkey off her back. Meanwhile, Charlie has to fight the sexual tension between him and Daisy. Hank and Karen go to the doctor to find out what the lump on Hank's male member is. While waiting for the test results, Hank and Karen think back about their early days, when Karen found out she was pregnant while both she and Hank were actually with someone else. Mia's - that is, originally Hank's - book gets rave reviews, ironically better than any of the books published in Hank's name. Lew is having a party to which pretty much everyone is invited. Marcy has just come back from rehab and Charlie is planning to give her some time before announcing that he wants a divorce in order to be with Daisy. Hank has finished the biography on late Lew. Mia leaves town to go on a countrywide book tour to promote 'her' book. Sonja gives birth to her child, with Julian, Hank and Karen present to support her. Karen gets a great job offer in New York, while Becca and Damian get back together.
