Insurance agent John Allen was strangled and thrown off a roof into a tree. Masked men hold Castle and the coroner at gun-point to steal the corpse on the way to the morgue, then dump it after butchering the inside, probably retrieving drugs. The widow refused to consider infidelity and pointed at former colleague Max Haverstock but it turns out both were fired eight months before and only Max got another legal job. Meanwhile only the mayor and the chief stand between Castle and jealous Becket severing his privileged ties with the NYPD after this 'last case', so he takes risks to 'redeem' himself after the trail leads to Chinatown poker and Russian mobsters. At full moon, couples therapist Ashley Cosway (32) is found at home by her husband, who ignores who the second portion Chinese was for, shot and marked in bad English 'psycho, you're time is up, rapist'. In the park near his home, retired math teacher Frank Anderson is also found shot. Ashley's visitor was friend-lawyer Brandy Rossi, asked to explain how one gets a restraining order. She and husband have an alibi, so Castle looks into her patients and a rumor of marital trouble. His hurry because of a bet against Javier and Ryan which duo solves its crime first, despite abundant alibis, gets twisted when forensics indicate a mysterious link. Written by KGF Vissers

During fashion week, a couple playfully stripping in a public fountain finds the beaten-up corpse there of designer Teddy Farrow's rising model Jenna McBoyd, fatally stabbed with an obelisk-shaped glass object. She was on diet-amphetamines, hoping to be chosen as the collection's campaign-face. Devoted husband Travis, who moved for her from Ohio, is shocked the NYPD still didn't follow up on their complaints about a stalker who never actually threatened her, identified as croupier Will James, who has an alibi. Model Sierra Goodwin now gets the campaign, and secretly dated photographer Wyatt Monroe, who allegedly sabotaged Jenna's crucial photo-shoot. Written by KGF Vissers

Her also-illegal ex, Teodor Hajek, explains she left him after their son died from a congenital disease. She had worked on the concierge staff of a luxury residence but was fired after Dr. Cameron Talbot's wife questioned the appropriateness of her treating their son Zane to a lollipop. Castle wonders how Beckett will take his dedication of a book starring her alter-ego, and his agent Haas's offer of a contract to write 3 British spy novels. As Halloween approaches, Castle and Beckett are called to a graveyard where the body of a young man sporting vampire fangs has been discovered with a wooden stake driven through his heart. Their investigation takes them deep into the heart of New York's underground vampire fetish community, where they learn that the motive for the victim's murder may be hiding within the pages of the graphic novel he was writing before his death. Haley Blue, the singer in Alexis' favorite band, The Blue Pills, is found in an alley with a broken neck, murder staged as suicide, before she can break up the band. Stalking fan Franco Marquez, against whom she got a restraining order, says he overheard ex-con guitarist Zack Metzger threaten her. Both Castles add lyrics analysis to confusing facts about a possible band reunion and drug (rehab) history involving her sister Skye, producers couple Ian and Bree Busch and ex-producer John McGinnis. Bike messenger Caleb Shimansky is killed by a masked man in a stolen black sedan. Caleb carried only one package, for Sally Niedermeyer, whose name the courier firm had miswritten as terrorist Shakir Nidal Mattar's. It was a message from her nephew Brian Thompson, from jail, where he's murdered hours later. It proved he, convicted due to present captain Roy Montgomery, confessed innocently to have his son's medical bills paid. Castle's connections help investigating the original murder of Olivia, which soon points to the extremely wealthy, politically influential Wellesley family, but which one and why? Only Becket, on whom the lead character was based, pretends not to be excited when one of Castle's books is chosen for a Hollywood movie. An anonymous, amused 'fan' calls the precinct to report his murder from a Grand Central Station phone booth, where the victim is found, shot with five bullets hand-marked to spell out 'NIKKI'. It's personal injury lawyer Alex Peterman. More calls, bodies, a deliberate clue and messages follow spelling 'will burn'. From the second murder, the FBI sends serial killer agent Jordan Shaw, who soon returns Castle's admiration when he deciphers clues. An apparent solution proves most dangerous. Written by KGF Vissers

Castle worked out that Ben Conrad was a scape-goat, shot by the real serial killer. He was too late to prevent Becket's place being bombed, but she survived, having being in the bath at the time. Shaw's profile and databases lead to a likely suspect, Doherty, actually deceased: the new fake identity. The team stakes his place, but the killer expected them. He gets away, but is identified. Becket is barricaded in castle's home, but the killer captures Shaw. Only Castle manages to think like him and prevent a big bang finale. Written by KGF Vissers

The investigation into the shocking death of a museum curator, crushed by a falling gargoyle, takes a bizarre turn when Castle and Beckett learn that he isn't the first member of a recent archeological expedition to die. It turns out there was a legend inscribed over the burial chamber the team unearthed warning that all who gaze upon the face of the mummy are doomed. The night before, he had visited two of his ex wives, Cindy and Barbara, who have apartments in the same building, and later, he saw his future successor as show host. He was also blackmailed with pictures of him and an apprentice, but by whom? Castle enjoys a hot affair with actress Ellie Monroe, who wants Nicky's part in the upcoming Heat wave movie. Multiple ex-con break-in expert Paul Finch is found in his car electrocution-tortured, possibly an accidental death. His widow believes he took on a last job after years in the clear - probably the recent Manhattan tunnel bank robbery. The team is delighted to be joined by Javier Esposito's mate from the 54th precinct, handsome hot-shot Tom Demming (from Castle's point of view, too much to Beckett's taste). The robbery victims include Fred Cana, collector for untouchable crime king Victor Racine, who is believed to have killed Javier's previous partner Isaac 'Ike' Thornton and managed to make him seem corrupt so the team was broken up. A high profile chef is found frozen to death in the kitchen of a hot New York restaurant. Complications ensue when Castle and the restaurant owner, an old high school girlfriend of Beckett's, share an attraction. Meanwhile, Beckett's relationship with Det. Demming continues to grow. A robbery-homicide prompts Beckett to invite Demming to assist on a case, giving Castle a ringside seat to their budding romance.
