As the Mount Everest climbing season begins, veteran mountaineer and high-altitude medic Jeff Evans and his Alpine Rescue Service helicopter team hit the slopes for the first time ever, risking life and limb to extract two separate injured climbers, both from 21,000 feet. Meanwhile, the ARS team provides emergency medical relief to a local boy suffering from a potentially fatal condition. With three lives in the balance, it's the perfect initiation to the season ahead.

Two weeks into the Everest climbing season, high-altitude medic Jeff Evans and his Alpine Rescue Service helicopter team face new challenges. Risking their lives to save others, they perform a rare and nearly impossible rescue, landing a helicopter deep within the treacherous Khumbu Icefall, locate a remote village to provide life-saving medical care to a young man and battle extreme weather to extract two severely ill climbers from Camp 2. With four sick patients, the ARS needs all hands on deck to get everyone home alive.

Several weeks into the climbing season, Jeff Evans and the team must rescue a Spanish climber having cardiac issues at 18,000 feet and a Chinese trekker suffering brain trauma on the way to base camp.

As climbers begin their summit attempts, Jeff Evans and the team must go higher up Mount Everest to extricate the leader of a military expedition, an Indian climber frozen in the death zone and a Sherpa battling an infection.

Jeff Evans and his team must rely on the Rescue Sherpa Team to bring incapacitated climbers from the death zone to the helicopters, including two snow blind Sherpas and a Slovakian team member taking a dangerous route to the top.

As the end of the Everest climbing season approaches, climbers race against the weather to reach the summit. Jeff Evans and his team must attempt one of the highest rescues in Everest history, and not everyone makes it home alive.
