After a rapist, Ray Schenkel, is released on parole, the detective that caught him, Dorsey, is sure that he'll revert to his old ways. When a rape occurs in New York, Dorsey talks to Stabler at the scene and convinces him that Schenkel was the perp. While investigating Schenkel, Stabler runs into him at the parole officer's office. He convinces Ray that he's a fellow parolee, and talks the PO into letting him into the group therapy session so that he can keep an eye on Ray. Stabler starts getting more deeply involved in Ray's new life, seeing if he's reformed or not, crossing the line between simple surveilence and entrapment on the way. Written by Tony B-4

When a girl is attacked, a young man is arrested. They later learn that he takes steroids which is what made him attack her. The guy turns out to be the son of a cop Stabler knows. When a teenager and her younger sister end up in the hospital after a day at the park, detectives learn that both girls were abducted from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina along with a third sister who is still missing. Despite the interference of a local reporter, Jackson Zane, detectives are able to catch the kidnapper, a known pedophile, and recover the girl, but when Alvin Dutch dies and the autopsy determines it was Anthrax, Benson puts everything on the line so that she can get the truth out there. A girl, Carly Hunter, is kidnapped on her way home from school. The abductor's van is quickly found, with the girl's blood in it. One suspect, a paroled pedophile, accidentally kills himself running from Det. Stabler. Hoping that evidence from the van will help locate Carly, Stabler talks to the medical examiner, Dr. Warner. She tells Stabler that Carly is probably alive (the blood is from a nosebleed), but that she's also got an undiagnosed case of leukemia and needs to be found as soon as possible. Warner elects to go to the Hunters and tell them about Carly's condition. While there, the kidnapper calls and demands $300,000 ransom and no police. He can view the apartment somehow, and asks who Warner is. She convinces the kidnapper that she's Carly's doctor. She then goes to an interior bathroom and calls SVU. Three teenage boys are suspected of foul play a when high school girl disappears after a night of partying with them. When Jason, one of the boys, agrees to testify against the other two boys, but when he disappears, Judge Donnelly has no choice but to dismiss the case. The suspicion aroused by the fact that without Jason's testimony there's no case is overshadowed by Casey's feeling of guilt, because she promised Jason he would be fine. Written by Alex

Her wealthy roommate is found with one of her rings, making her a suspect as the two were not friends. He gets a lawyer to make sure his son doesn't have to answer any questions. But his ex-wife tells him that he needs to convince their son to tell them the truth.
