A Naval Petty Officer is found dead at the Mardi Gras float storage facility. Pride and his team investigate. They find that the man had an engagement ring and a proposal plan with him. Loretta says he was shot but it appears he was shot with two different guns. They learn that he was assigned to an Admiral so they go to see him. He informs them that the Petty Officer was having an online relationship and was planning to propose to her. They learn that another guy was having a relationship with her and threatened the Petty Officer to leave her alone. They track him down and he claims that he shot him. But Loretta says that the fatal shot was not from his gun but from the other gun. They try to track the girl and discover that she's a man who was pulling some kind of scam. But the case takes a mysterious turn when the lead suspect is found with the Navy-issued jacket of an officer believed to have been killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan. Also, Brody discovers the normally holiday-obsessed Lasalle is inexplicably unenthusiastic about Christmas.

Pride and his team are attending a Naval soirée. Also with them are Pride's daughter and her boyfriend. The boyfriend goes to their table when there's an explosion. The team checks it out and they learn the blast originated from their table which leads them to think that they were the targets. When Sebastian tells them what the bomb was made of, Pride suspects a crime family might be behind it because Pride sent the head to prison. So he has them track down all the man's children. A Naval therapist goes to Pride and tells him that while he was running he collapse. He was taken to a hospital where they said he was poisoned with Polonium. Pride investigates and learns that he deemed a man who was with the Coast Guard as unfit for duty which led to his being booted out. So they call Borin who comes because the man has been a person of interest for some time. But when they clear him, they look deeper. They learn the therapist and his brother were in dispute over some family land and the one who wants to buy it has access to Polonium. Brody works the security detail of an Admiral who's being threatened. When they arrive at their destination, someone takes a shot and hits one of the agents. Pride and the team try to find the shooter but the agent in charge of the detail wants to speak to Brody to make sure she didn't do anything wrong but also wants to talk about an incident when she was an agent afloat wherein some men were killed. Brody doesn't want to talk about it. Sebastian recreates the shooting he determines that the shooter was not aiming for the Admiral but the agent. So they check him out and he's clean. Pride is obsessed with apprehending Baitfish that he ingratiates himself into the investigation in another jurisdiction. And the investigation is the murder of a doctor from New Orleans. He has Brody and LaSalle investigate, they learn that he and Baitfish might be partners in a new drug business. Pride goes to see the Broussard in prison to see what he knows. And he agrees to help Pride if Pride helps him. He then goes to see his sister who is supposedly the good one in the family to warn her and offer her protection which she rejects. After a sailor is murdered in the champagne room of a strip club, the NCIS team links the murder weapon to two additional unsolved cases and discovers that the names of all three victims appear on a mural in a dilapidated part of town. Also, Brody's ex-fiance pays her a surprise visit.

A Petty officer arrives at the airport and is very anxious to get pass customs, when he's allowed to pass, he drops dead. When Lorettta examines him, she says that it appears that he died of natural causes. Loretta takes the body back to the morgue. Danny's helping her. A man then shows up saying he's taking the body on the behalf of the man's family. But Loretta refuses. That's when the man pulls a gun and holds them there. Pride calls Loretta asking her about her progress, she manages to tell him that they're being held there. So Pride calls security and the guy tries to take out the body but a guard stops him so he holds everyone at the morgue and Danny and Loretta are shot. Danny's wound is serious, so Sebastian has to operate on him because Loretta's wounded. Pride and the team learn the man was in contact with a doctor who's not legitimate. LaSalle's brother calls him. When he gets there, his brother shows him the body of his girlfriend in the trunk of his car. LaSalle calls Pride who tells him that they don't have jurisdiction, it's New Orleans PD's case. Pride gets the Police Captain to let them observe. When they question LaSalle's brother he claims to have no memory of what happened. They think because of his condition, he blackout. LaSalle doesn't believe it. Baitfish kills someone close to someone on the team. The police come and while they are processing shots are fired and a couple of cops are killed. Pride is determined to find him and he turns to ATF agent Sonja Percy who's infiltrated Baitfish's gang for help. She says she'll contact Pride when she can. But when Baitfish calls her, he won't let her call anyone. Later Pride learns that there was an attempted robbery and they find one of Baitfish's people dead and no sign of Percy. After Baitfish is killed but not after telling Pride that something big is going to happen. Pride thinks it might have something to do with the smuggling operation Sasha Broussard has going on. They learn that a Naval guy was killed as he was unloading the containers. They think that someone was trying to enter the county through the container. So Pride tries to find out who and what he/she is planning. In the meantime, Pride suspects someone who knew how Baitfish was being transported was the one who killed him, that means it could a cop, a fed or anyone. He turns to someone unlikely for help.
