Although shocked that her father is alive and on Victoria's side, and against Nolan's advise, Emily refuses to identify him. Daniel refuses to accept a loan from Margaux but does well in an editor interview with magazine heiress Louise Ellis, who clearly has the hots for him and a sickly interest in Victoria, who still enjoys the discrete protection of police chief Edward Alvarez, but neither press nor FBI can be kept from the juicy David Clark alive story. Danny armed with Charlotte's reveal confronts Emily to cut a deal and inadvertently interrupts her investigations into David. Another exciting finale but disappointing for Ems.

Daniel finds Margaux bitterly jealous -possibly breaking up- of Louise Ellis and chases her when she sneaks into his shower. Nolan works out her worrying rapport with Victoria, who is hospitalized badly beaten but expected to recover fully. Ben can barely stomach that he isn't promoted but discarded when FBI agent Kate Taylor is assigned to the case, who picks Jack as her Hamptons 'partner'. Daniel is completely desperate now Margaux disowns him as the baby's 'unfit' father, but Victoria gets them to reconsider. Nolan makes up wit Louise and hosts this year's grand season start party. Jack is reluctant even to consider Emily's claim that his lover, FBI agent Kate Taylor, is in league with mysterious mob lord Malcolm, even Nolan seems to find nothing against her, until big data mining yields a surprising clue. While they try to trap-test Kate, David his asked his former cellmate for belladonna to poison Victoria's wine for her treason with Conrad, but she finally owes up before sipping, yet death strikes a Grayson. Daniel was fatally shot by Kate, shielding Emily, who dragged her down in a fatal fall. David warns her mob father Malcolm Black won't rest until everybody present and their loved-ones are savagely slaughtered, so Jack and Nolan work out how to stage Daniel being shot in self-defense by Emily, while David dumps the corpse. Victoria plays along reluctantly, rather then joining Margaux's quest for vengeance except by banning Emily from the funeral, but despite Ben's professional interest, Emily is officially cleared. Nolan thinks he erased all clues while David set up arrival cartel in Miami, but his guest Louise snooped in Kate's evacuated belongings, for Victoria. David planned faking a reconciliation to kill Victoria, but Emily talks him out of 'spoiling her sweet revenge' and plans leaving. Maclom Black's arrival takes priority anyhow, but Davbod panics when he finds his plan was sabotaged by tipping off Jack's PD, and indeed the fiend is released for 'lack of evidence'. Nolan gets Emily to help check out Louise's brother, congressman Lyman Ellis and their mother, over a dinner, but discover she's being drugged into therapy and spied for Victoria. Nolan takes care of Louise's mother and saves Louise from her family, while Amanda and David starts bonding over tie and dances in Nolan's reception. Victoria tries to regain her place as the Hampton's queen bee while making new friends or enemies. jack quits his police job. Ben and Amanda finally gets closer to each other to Jack's surprise.

When Margaux uses her ammunition against both Emily and Jack, their friendship takes a dramatic turn. Meanwhile, Natalie shows Victoria the true reason behind her arrival in the Hamptons.

Ben turns to Emily and Nolan for help when Margaux threatens his ex-wife. They find her and he wants to go to her and Emily wants to go with him but he doesn't want her to. She follows him and when they find his ex, she reveals that is because of Ben is she has to hide. When Victoria learns that David is seeing Natalie, she tries to help him to be cautious but he thinks she's just upset that she lost the inheritance. Lyman after failing to help Victoria get the inheritance turns to someone else and it requires for him to get close to Louise. Jack is still reeling from Emily being with Ben. Louise hopes to make it real but suggesting to adopt a baby, but finally overhears Nolan tell Jack he can't stay in it for loveless reasons. Ben's joy over his promotion to detective and visit from brother Kevin are spoiled by his lover Emily, who doesn't even consult him, just Jack, who -like David- waves his mother's firm objections, about her plan to overcome the hospital board's refusal to name a hospital research wing after Daniel by changing the story of his death, Emily even discloses being Amanda. Everybody is shocked by Emily's public admission to be Amanda Clark, her team and even lover Ben not to be consulted in advance, while the change of Daniel's death story affects them all bitterly. Victoria has a hard time convincing Margaux to turn on Emily, but having overheard Nolan he wants a real love, Louise copies his compromising files and hands them to Victoria, who yet insists on an easy divorce. Ben takes charge of the investigation, grilling Jack, who must return from LA but refuses to stay for Amanda, herself and David, who tries to hide his medical alibi for her. It looks like Nolan finally found gay happiness with handsome social worker Tony Hughes, but just when he's booking a beach holiday a dream coming true changes Tony's exclusive priority.
