Six months have passed. Golding is on the run and Anna believes she has seen him but Harry, who has eschewed gambling, resists Eve's notion that they use the bracelet to locate him. Returning to work with Suri and the discredited Orwell Harry investigates a serial killer who murders his, seemingly random victims, with a ricin injection. Partly with assistance from the bracelet they track down the culprit, Amit, a disturbed young man who is taking revenge on those whom he believed ruined his life but he eludes them and the chase leads to a casino where Harry meets Isabella, a woman with a bracelet identical to his. After Amit has again escaped Harry encounters Isabella a second time and asks if the bracelet can help catch him. Kevin Jones, boyfriend of police officer Ade, is murdered after leaving a gay club and the demoted Orwell joins Harry and Suri as their investigations lead to Reverend Anthony Huxley, who preaches homophobic sermons to his large congregation. Harry discovers that Kevin had recently left Huxley's church, though Huxley, revealed to have been struck off as a psychiatrist for practising gay conversion therapy, denies knowing him. Then Melanie Spencer, who also quit the congregation, is killed. Harry believes he has the evidence to charge Huxley but, having survived an attempt on his own life thanks to the bracelet, looks to Melanie's widower to close the case. Harry's introduction to Anna's new partner Jonny, engineered by Isabella, is interrupted when human remains baked in a pie are found in the stomach of a man who died of cardiac arrest . The victim is identified as forger Adam Sykes and the trail leads to Smithfield market and an abandoned van, used by Golding, Sykes' killer, to abduct Eve. Taken off the case for personal reasons Harry approaches Isabella who refuses to help, claiming that Eve was responsible for her daughters' deaths. To save herself Eve directs Golding to Isabella, who appears to lure Harry into a trap but turns the tables on Golding before he can sever Harry's arm and claim the bracelet. After foiling a mugger - due to his luck - Harry investigates when Mary Wells dies testing a prototype driverless car designed by her husband Davey. Harry interviews Davey's head of legal Lakshi Perera as well as Rachel Spikes and Woody Gilbert whose company helped develop the car since all were present at car's launch and in a position to tamper with it. Later Harry discovers that Mary wished to divorce Davey as he was having an affair with Lakshi but Davey is also found dead and Woody goes missing. Harry uses his luck to locate the chief suspect, hear their excuse for what happened and once more take a gamble on surviving his hunch. When several bodies are, over a period of time, dragged from the river, the common link is that all the victims had had organ transplants at the Regent clinic and all were injected with Pentaprevin. Nurse Scarlett Cartmell had been fired from the clinic for stealing the drug but, after she is found dead, Harry almost becomes the next victim of a self-righteous murderer. Hitman Jurgen Bloch slaughters all nine passengers on a flight to London from Oslo to retrieve the back-pack of one of them, student Elliot Aimes. Harry learns that Bloch is the man who killed Isbella's children and whom she went after and left for dead though she seems strangely non-committal when challenged. Elliot was involved in smuggling priceless art works with three accomplices, whom Bloch also kills. Investigating the murder of Dean Adams, Harry finds a hair linking Lily-Anne Lau to being the possible killer but when the hair mysteriously vanishes she is released and Orwell suspected of collusion with her. When a witness to the murder is also shot dead Orwell goes into hiding but Harry believes in his innocence and sets out to prove it. Eve once more falls into the clutches of Isabella, who shocks Anna by demonstrating the bracelet's power but Harry is even more shocked to see who is Isabella's new boy-friend. Several wanted criminals are being slain and Harry realizes that Isabella is responsible, using her relationship with Winter to identify them and track them down. The latest victim is a loan shark to whom gambling addict Bill Martin owed seventy seven thousand pounds though Bill commits suicide, with Isabella conveniently nearby. Eve, having escaped from Isabella, helps Harry to frame her for Bill's death but Isabella, devious as ever, provides evidence to incriminate Eve and then takes her revenge on Harry. Believing Harry to be dead after the accident staged by Isabella Eve removes his bracelet but is mugged by down on his luck boxer Jay Tate and puts it on his wrist. Consequently Jay gets a much needed winning streak, making him feel invincible. Recovering in hospital Harry tells Winter all about Isabella and her murderous ways, convincing his superior that she was responsible for the attempt on his life. Unfortunately Winter confronts her with Harry's accusations, putting himself in great danger. Reunited with Anna he sends her and Daisy to safety but Isabella abducts Rich instead, leading to Harry having to tell Suri about her affair with him. Harry saves Rich and Isabella is arrested but even in custody she is a dangerous woman and, having succumbed to Eve's suggestion that he kill her, Harry must face Isabella for a final show-down.
