Mike, now working as an investment banker, comes to Harvey with a plan to buy out a corporation, but Harvey is soon stuck with a conflict of interest. Meanwhile, Jessica must choose between a romantic or professional relationship.

Harvey and Mike find themselves on opposite sides of a takeover battle that threatens to turn into a knockdown, drag-out fight - a fight complicated by Rachel's relationship with Mike. Mike crosses the line to gain leverage on Harvey and Louis, Jeff and Jessica take their fight to the SEC, and Rachel comes to Logan's assistance.

Mike tries to bluff Harvey with his newfound money, but the move backfires, and the case takes a physical toll on Rachel. Meanwhile, Louis helps Donna memorize some Shakespeare for a play.

Mike suddenly has leverage, and Harvey and Logan are ready to make a deal, until Louis finds a way to turn the tables on everyone. Meanwhile, Rachel's actions could add insult to injury for Mike.

Mike's problems are compounded when Rachel reveals her secret, Harvey looks for a way to get Mike back on his feet, and Jessica gives Louis a chance to choose a reward after his big win.

On Mike's first day back at the firm, Harvey wants him to stop Cahill from being able to get the files on the Gillis take over after he served them with a subpoena. Mike thinks he found a way after Cahill approaches him but Cahill retaliates by informing them that Sanders has granted him permission to get his files. After Louis confesses his wrongdoings in the Forstman deal to Jessica, the firm is forced to go on the offensive against Sean Cahill. But will Harvey be able to save Louis from getting fired, or has Jessica finally had enough?

After Louis resigns from Pearson Specter, Harvey, Mike and Donna try to help him get back on his feet, but Jessica's refusal to budge on his contract could hurt all of them in the long run.

Louis uses his new leverage to become a name partner, rub Jessica and Harvey's noses in it, and promises to make Mike's life a living Hell until he breaks his will and resigns.

Harvey's Harvard professor comes to see him and says he needs a lawyer and he wants Harvey. But Harvey, because of something that happened between them, he refuses. But Mike convinces him to represent him. It seems like the man has been accused of taking a bribe when he was working on a case, because he was caught with a lot of money. When Harvey asks him where he got it, he answers Harvey knows; from gambling. He can't say that because he could get fired from Harvard if it got out. Harvey thinks he found a way for him to say where he got it and not let anyone know about it. But Mike preps him, Mike realizes that he didn't get it from gambling. Jessica tells Louis that she told Jeff Malone how Louis got back in the firm and his name on the door. She expects him not to tell him otherwise. Louis wants one of Harvey's clients and Harvey won't let him have one. But Donna tells him to give Luis what he wants. In other events, in a flashback, the root of Harvey and Louis's competitive relationship is explained; and Mike learns the limits of his intelligence when it comes to the law.

Mike takes on a whistleblower case at professor Gerard's request, and Jeff uses the office receptionists to get under Louis' skin.

When Evan Smith brings new evidence nullifying the firm's victory against Liberty Rail, Harvey and Mike must scramble to save the case. But when District Attorney Wolf comes after the firm, they're faced with the real possibility of Donna going to prison for her role.
