Castlevania II: Simon's Quest

The Castlevania trilogy features two of the greatest games ever made. That's right, only two. Castlevania and Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. Castlevania II:Simon's Quest, on the other hand, should have a stake through the heart. Or at least, that's the Opinion of the Angry Nintendo Nerd. He's going to review some of the worst Nintendo-licensed games of the past. Dracula, prepare to be bitten. Written by boonose

The Nerd appears on camera for the first time ever, and isn't in a good mood cause wants gamers to know that despite Castlevania 2 being a bad game, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is even worse. The Nerd at first didn't want to show the game-play footage, but decided to do so to prove he's right. As he plays the game, his main complaints is that the staff that's suppose to be the weapon doesn't help defend you from the townsfolk who some reason have a grudge against Dr. Jekyll. While the game-play isn't fun when you can die real easily. So after one round of the game, the Nerd advised the viewers to stay away from it, cause it's not worth owning in any NES collection. It wasn't even worth the 89 cents he bought with it. Written by J LeGault

Besides the awkward use of the controls, the Nerd finds the pitfalls, mini games, and the rolling boulders to be the reason why Karate Kid the video game should deserved to be ignored by all Nintendo game collectors. The game started to become bad when it turns out that the punches take forever to charge, which you're better off using a weapon than using your fists for the fights. The Nerd's main complaint in the game is the item shop not allowing you to buy another item unless you re-enter the shop in order to buy a different item. In conclusion the Nerd declared that the game sucks and isn't worth playing it entirely. Written by J LeGault

The Nerd grabs a beer and decides to review the first Ninja Turtles game for the NES. For a game that's based off of a kids show, it's not kid friendly when the platforms in the levels make it tricky for you to jump on and the rapid re-spawning of the enemies. The Nerd's main complaint is the electrifying seaweed which makes swimming under water more difficult than it seems. Not to mention that at some points in the game you're unable to get any of the turtles out of the water upon the land levels despite how they're able to swim in the underwater levels. The Nerd reviews both the original Back to the Future NES game as well as the Back to the Future Parts 2 and 3 NES game. For the first game the Nerd's main complaint about it is the clock collecting mini games and the odd choice of enemies that consist of bees and hula hoop girls. For the other game the Nerd finds the layout of the alternate 1985 level to resemble nothing from what is depicted in the second movie itself. Written by J LeGault

The Nerd observes the cartridge to the game Wally Bear, and is confused by the label that says Press Here which is literally part of the actual label of the game. The game itself isn't too exciting for a game that is trying to teach kids the dangers of drugs. The most ironic thing about the game is it has a hot-line that contains a recording of what is suppose to be Wally Bear telling kids about the dangers of drugs. The hot-line is still active to this day despite that the game was released 14 years ago. The Nerd suspects that the recording lays dormant in some guy's dusty basement. The fact alone that an old recording still being active in an abandon area is very haunting. Written by J LeGault

There isn't anything great about the game other than the main character being drunk hence the word drunkard in the title. The Nerd reviews a flight simulating NES game which is based off of the movie Top Gun. For an older flight simulating video game there isn't much to offer since it's made for the NES, but the confusing controls and lack of music makes the Nerd irritated. His main complaint goes to the landing the plane sequence which always results in the plane crashing into the ocean despite that the Nerd did his best to steer the plane in the correct coordinates. For the finale the Nerd reviews the sequel Top Gun: Second Mission. Which he likes how it's game play is a lot more fast pace, but complains that the missile kill you at a far range giving you less time to avoid them. Written by J LeGault

The only amusing thing about the game is the typo on the intro screen. Instead of Billy and Jimmy it's Bimmy and Jimmy. The Nerd couldn't get over the fact that there's a typo in an NES game. Rather than becoming a victim to Voorhees's machete, The Nerd is instead being forced to play the Friday the 13th game for the NES. The game is so bad, that the Nerd would rather get killed by Jason, except Jason finds this torture to be whole lot more entertaining. As the Nerd is playing the game, he finds the map navigation to be very misleading where you end up going to opposite direction instead of going to the right path. While the use of weapons in the game aren't that well thought out and provide little defense. The Nerd's main complaint is interior of the cabins and caves to be an endless limbo. By the time he can't take playing the game anymore, he retaliates towards Voorhees to finally end his torture. Written by J LeGault

In the dream world Freddy forces the Nerd to play the Nightmare on Elm Street game for the NES. With the generic Halloween monsters and the campy music, it was far from being as great as it's movie counterpart. The Nerd's main complaint is that the main character in the game has no weapons except for the dream sequences. The thing he finds frustrating about the glove is that it's non-responsive to certain games and you have to enter a code on the glove for each game you play resulting in using a list of codes from gaming websites in order to know what the codes are. So the Nerd decided to play selected games with the Power Gloves and even discovered certain games that were previously hard are now easy thanks to the Power Glove, the Nerd recommends the Power Glove if you want to experience NES games in a whole different way. Only cause it's the only first person shooter where you get to play as Noah. The game is basically a clone of Wolfenstein 3D which is a better first person shooter to play. The Nerd is confused as to why there are so many goats inside the ark and the reason for Noah to be attacked by goats is a mystery. Written by J LeGault
