Lucien Charot runs a freight line into Tucson. He has been faking attacks by the Apaches to allow him to raise the prices of the goods he brings in with the aid of some local businessmen. Big John is fed up and after Charot doubles the prices on his last trip he decides to have competition by having a line come in from El Paso through the Apache lands with whom he has peace. Charot keeps pushing the fact there are Apache attacks by having an Apache lance found at the site of High Chaparral cattle killed. To counteract this news, Big John makes a personal trip into Apache land to meet with Cochise who agrees to the freight line. When this doesn't stop Big John, Charot has a local rancher burned out. This causes the local support for the new line to die so Big John and Victoria agree to bring a stagecoach through themselves. Charot tries to take out the coach but Big John's men drive off the attack and leave Charot a choice between Cochise and the law in Tucson. Written by Anonymous

Watching a wild stallion on the ranch gives Manolito the itch to get away from the constraints of the ranch. He gathers his things and heads to Mexico where he enjoys the company of wine and women. His old friend/enemy El Lobo arrives with his gang who are wanted. Shortly afterwards two women and a man arrive who are members of the Salvation Army on the way Tombstone. They have been robbed - by El Lobo. Manolito recovers one of their musical instruments but Manolito is forced to provide funds for them to leave as El Lobo has already spent their money. They ask Manolito to guide them to Tombstone but he only leads them back to the US where he heads to Tucson. Lost, the trio follows him to Tucson where he must once again befriend them with a place to stay in his room. Buck looking for Manolito barges into their room waking up the sleeping women thinking they are Manolito. Buck pushes Manolito into helping the women gather funds and guide them to Tombstone. Scouting Apaches nearby, Blue spots a blonde woman. Blue wants to free her but Buck and Manolito stop him. Buck says she is now Apache and he does not want to break the treaty Big John has with the Apaches. The next day Blue secretly goes to retrieve the girl. He is able to reach Sarah who wants to leave the tribe and husband Santos. Blue gets her on his horse but as he is attacked by the guards, he sets the horse free with Sarah on it. Buck and Manolito upon catching up with her are told Blue is dead. They return to the ranch to tell Victoria what happened but Big John is away. Sarah tells Victoria she does not want to return to Santos. The Apaches leave a symbol at the ranch indicating Blue is alive so the men leave to find Blue. Buck alone is allowed to see Blue and told he has three days to return Sarah. He returns to the ranch with the intention of returning Sarah to Santos the next day. A spat over lack of attention results in an irate Victoria moving back home with her father leaving Big John sulking and the rest of the men missing her presence. The bored and lonely Don Sebastian Montoya is surprised by the ravishing widowed Countess Maria Kettenden von München from Mexico city who is returning to Europe. As he prepares to court her, however, Victoria arrives putting a damper on activities. Manolito decides to return home as well to see if he can repair the damage between Victoria and Big John. Upon his arrival he too is smitten with the Countess starting a contest between him and his father for her time and interest. The Countess is not interested in a romance but she proves to be apt at giving Victoria sage advice on relationships. Wanting Victoria back, Big John travels to her with the intent to return with his wife but the sharp Countess steps in to tell Big John that a woman wants to feel wanted and courted which did not happen with his quick marriage to ... A sergeant erroneously tells Stinky Flanagan to shoot his camel who is holding up the Army. Flanagan has no heart to kill Tillie so he releases her but she returns after scaring Buck's horse forcing Buck to walk to Tucson. Buck was sent to town with $40 to buy a mule. In a saloon Buck meets Flanagan who has deserted the Army with Tillie. He tells Buck how useful camels can be in the desert so Buck buys Tillie instead of the mule and returns with Tillie and Flanagan with the hope Flanagan can work on the ranch. Problems start from the beginning when the horses all react poorly to the camel and later when Tillie is scared by cattle. Flanagan causes more problems when he intrudes on a date for which Manolito is late. Flanagan decides to leave with Tillie leaving the Cannon's with no mule or $40. An angry Manolito catches him as they hear an Army retreat bugle call. Flanagan and Manolito follow the sound. Apaches are attacking the Army and encircling them. Flanagan rides into the attack ... Big John promised the elder Sandoval that if his people move to an Indian reservation, they will be treated properly by the Indian Agent Captain Surtee and his people will no longer go hungry. The Cannons prepare a feast for the tribe to celebrate the arrival of Surtee. However, upon arriving Surtee snubs Sandoval in front of his people by leaving. Big John confronts Surtee thinking he is not used to Apache ways but Surtee knows their customs and fought them in the Army until he was wounded by an arrow still in his back. He apologizes to Sandoval. When a fight between braves over a girl occurs, he again usurps Sandoval's rule. Sandoval wants to cut Chato's nose off for trying to steal her. Sandoval goes to Big John who smooths over the issue. The girl, Quintana, is assigned to Surtee by Sandoval to cook and clean. Sam is trying to break a bronc when a man named Orville Kilroy wanders into the ranch with a saddle looking to buy a horse. Blue tries to take advantage of him by selling him the bronc but the joke is on the men when Kilroy breaks the bronc. Buck knows Kilroy spent time in prison for robbery but decides to take him on as he is a good hand. Kilroy proves to be the guy everyone likes. He can handle a practical joke, teaches Blue to shoot, and provides Big John with a chess player who can beat Big John. However, Telford Burris and his two sons are on the trail of Kilroy. They finally reach Tucson where Kilroy along with Buck, Blue, and Manolito have come for supplies. Telford asks Buck in the saloon if he has seen Kilroy in the area. Buck says no but leaves to warn Kilroy but it is too late as a son has seen Kilroy. As the men come for Kilroy, Blue wants to help him but Buck realizing Kilroy is wanted says no. As the Cannons prepare to receive Don Sebastian at the ranch, they receive word he is dying from a bullet wound. He was shot in a holdup and his lion head ring was stolen. They go to the Montoya ranch where Montoya asks Manolito to wed Anita de Santiago y Amistad and Big John to sign a document that would put his ranch under the same control as Montoya's and Anita's family ranch. Montoya is dying but when he falls out of bed, it dislodges the bullet allowing him to heal. Not wanting to lose the chance to control the three ranches, he continues the charade. Upon meeting Anita, Manolita is taken by her beauty but turned off by her demands. Meanwhile, locals catch a woodcutter who has the stolen ring who says he bought it from two men. Buck, Blue and Joe follow him to catch the men they believe are involved while Manolito returns to the hacienda only to catch his father out of bed and obviously recovering. Alberto Ruiz and son Carlos are fleeing a posse when Alberto's horse goes lame. He takes Carlos's horse with plans to meet Carlos in Tucson. Carlos is later found wandering in the desert by Victoria. Although he is unwilling to cooperate with the Cannons, Victoria wants to keep him at the ranch although Big John suggests sending him to the orphanage. Victoria thinks he should go to school and stay with a family in Tucson. They find him a family but there is no school teacher. Victoria decides to take the job for a month until a new teacher arrives. Carlos does well in school changing his feelings as he learns about the US. However, one boy in the school knows his background and continues to hound him about his dad hanging. Alberto does eventually find Carlos in Tucson wanting him to return to Mexico with him. However, Carlos wishes to stay and continue in school. Alberto decides to take him and kidnap Victoria for ransom. He sends Blue with a demand for $1000 but Blue decides to take ...
