The Zodiac Killer which is the pseudonym self proclaimed and his killings were first reported in the late 1960's and his accredited murder spree continued into the 1970's and then abruptly stopped. Some of his victims who were fortunate to survive his attack(s) were able to glean a partial description of their attacker and the newspaper published the police sketch of their potential serial killer. He operated in northern California and he made it very clear to the police and the newspapers that he wanted credit for his murder spree. He taunted the police by sending cryptic letters to both the police and news papers that required someone to solve his puzzle letters that were his cyphers. There were at least three (3) separate men that victims and/or witnesses who survived the Zodiac Killer's attacks claimed were the attacker but more than 60 years later the perpetrator's identity remains a mystery.
