Meanwhile Sweets rightly points out Booth and Bones can't just pretend everything is okay now they're rejoined with their baby, with Bones's learned domestic skills and their emotions shifted all over the place. Max, Bones and baby Christine have been on the run for months since Christopher Pelant set her up for murder. Now they leave clues for Booth to realize the corpse they leave dug-up in his Virginia home small town is probably an early victim of Pelant's, the school counselor whose written recommendation was key in the IT genius's Stanford admission. Booth has a hard timing countering his buddy, Agent Hayes Flynn, in charge of arresting Bones. Despite childish emotive hostility from Angela's side, Bones' forensic interim, Dr. Clark Edison, helps clear the case which looks likely to end his contract. A car struggling to get out of deep mud 'unearths' a corpse, decomposing for a week, identified as Mr. Drew. The divorced former shopkeeper was one of foreman Juan Chiquez's day laborers on fairgrounds, notably hired for a show of legal, yet partially wild animals organized by well-reputed Eric Neilbling, whose claim all goes by the book doesn't stand up. She charges them with identifying remains that have been determined unidentifiable. For the team, however, it turns out that naming the bodies may be the easiest part of their task when one of them is from 9/11 and they must decide if he is a victim or perpetrator. A teenage corpse, later identified as Colin Gibson, is found reburied in a hothouse. A wasp-nest in his crane and rare birch material ultimately allow to Hodgins to provide hints for Booth to find his original burial place, a remote pump house. Colin was a fun-loving, enterprising, generally liked model student and individual athlete. The death cause seemingly renders his father a suspect, but no motive works out. Written by KGF Vissers

A young woman's corpse is found, mysteriously covered in what seem diamonds. Typical wear and tear injuries suggest a dancer, soon identified from the missing persons database. She was participating in a TV show, so Booth, who paid his way trough college as ballroom instructor, goes undercover, with Bones as partner, who only imagines being up to it. While Hodgins and Wendell invent a way to clean the corpse without destroying the evidence in search of the cause of death, actually eliminating malicious poison, the victim and relevant contest persons are scrutinized. A clumsy parachutist landing in a tree discovers a corpse covered in silk cocoon webs. It's identified as pseudo-scientific author and adventurer Sutton. He married Marina Tovah, whom he met on expedition in Chechenya, from where he brought Sapiens and Neanderthal bones found on a single site. Her excessively competitive attitude, marked by Sweets as an educational risk for Christine, hinders Dr. Clark Edison's examination, putting Hodgins in the middle. After Hodgins and Angela were drugged and woke up to a bloody corpse hanging in the canopy of their bed and flower petals around their son Michael's crib, they are forced to believe that Pelant is back for revenge against Hodgins. Although Hodgins wants to go after Pelant directly, Booth knows it's best to work within the system and not go against protocol. Meanwhile, as the Jeffersonian team investigates the corpse, they discover the victim was a Special Forces agent working for the world's biggest supplier of mercenaries, and Angela and Hodgins decide to start an investigation without the rest of the Jeffersonian team for the sake of their family. Although his mother and few close friends saw him as intelligent with poor social skills, the team discovers that this seemingly innocent boy was actually involved in illegal activity and had attended a high school party two weeks prior where drugs were present. The investigation takes an ugly turn when an underage girl confesses to being raped and the deceased boy's reputation is compromised. Meanwhile, with the case's spotlight on deception, intern Finn Abernathy contemplates telling Cam that her daughter Michelle is in town visiting for the weekend. Written by Fox.com

When the Jeffersonian team investigates the death of a former Marine sergeant whose remains were found burned to a crisp, they discover that she was discharged after a fist fight with another Marine. When Booth and Sweets go to question the other Marine involved in the altercation, they learn that Deanna was obsessed with the idea of the apocalypse, which leads the team to a following of doomsday preppers who become key suspects in her death.
