The CL team must find the two girls abducted with Yana and Caro, a well-known crusader against sex trafficking. They must also identify Tiso and put him out of business permanently. Freja dies in the train lavatory before she reached The Hague. The team learns her coffee was poisoned with aconite and her laptop, which never left her possession, is also stolen. A noted scientist/water specialist is tasked a report whether it was in the best interest for the government to allow a river to be moved, environmental impact and eminent domain, notwithstanding. The scientist is found dead; his wife, had been on Skype or Face Time with him at the time and she called the Zagreb police. Legia Lubin is a Polish soccer team (what many Europeans call football) purchased by Arshad, a Malaysian. The soccer team is multi-racial; there are players from Mali, Poland, etc., on the team. A pipe bomb is placed in one of the Mali players' lockers, killing two and injuring six. CL gets the case; they try to decide if a pipe bomb in a black player's locker is terrorism, as the government believes, or a hate crime by the Legia Ultras as the owner alleges.
