Rose is a shop assistant at Harrods and finds herself in a top floor storage room when the mannequins seem to come to life. She's rescued by a man who calls himself the Doctor but reveals little about himself. Her Internet search leads her to a man who believes that the Doctor is an immortal alien who has been instrumental in averting various Earthly disasters. Their paths cross again and Rose helps the Doctor in fighting a race of plastics-based creatures whose home world may have been destroyed in a battle involving the Doctor. Rose seems like the perfect companion for his future travels. Written by garykmcd
EPS02
Rose goes off on her first adventure with the Doctor who takes her 5 billion years into the future to view a cataclysmic event: the destruction of the Earth. They're on an orbiting space platform with a groups of invited guests who seem to travel from one cataclysmic event to another. There are uninvited guests as well in the form of spider-like mechanical robots that seem to multiply at will and are obviously bent on causing destruction. The spiders soon dispose of the Steward and gain control of the orbiting platform's mainframe. It doesn't take long for the Doctor to figure out just which of the invited guests is behind it all. Rose takes her first trip back in time and she and the Doctor travel to 1869 Cardiff. They take in a reading from none other than Charles Dickens but in the middle of the performance, a zombie-like creature interrupts the performance and there is a ghostly apparition. Rose is kidnapped and taken to the home of an undertaker where alien creatures are living in the gas lighting system and taken possession of the dead. Rose manages to get information from Gwyneth, the parlor maid, that points to her as the central point of contact for the alien beings. Written by garykmcd
EPS04
The Doctor and Rose return to present day London where she finds that she hasn't been away for the 12 hours she thought had gone by, but 12 months. Her mother had been searching for her frantically, having filed a report with the police and putting posters with her photo on every lamp post. To their amazement, an alien spacecraft crashes in the Thames and Earth has it's first contact with extra-terrestrial beings. The Prime Minister has vanished however and those in charge are not what they seem to be. Working with the only Member of Parliament who seems to be in London, Rose and the Doctor battle a race of alien beings, the Slitheen, who want to destroy the Earth and sell if off, piece by piece. EPS05
Now locked in the reinforced Cabinet Room, the Doctor and Rose finally learn of the Slitheen's intentions. Having locked themselves in however, how they will manage to stop them becomes a major issue. While trying to keep the aliens at bay, the Doctor works against the clock to destroy them the only way he knows how - to blow up 10 Downing Street. To so however, Rose's boyfriend Mickey will have to hack into a submarine's computer and launch a missile. Written by garykmcd
EPS06
The Doctor and Rose travel to the year 2012 and land in a museum of extra-terrestrial objects accumulated by the very wealthy Henry van Statten. He's an avid collector - the TARDIS lands on the museum's 53rd floor below ground level - but he's also using alien technology to develop new weapons from which he derives his large income. He's particularly proud of one device he's acquired but has not yet been able to make functional and to the Doctor's horror, it turns out to a very old and very dangerous enemy from the past. The Doctor, Rose and Adam travel 200,000 years into the future and land on Satellite 5, a space station orbiting the Earth. From the moment they arrive, the Doctor feels that something is wrong but he can't quite put his finger on it. Satellite 5 provides 600 channels of news and information to everyone on Earth and the crew, all humans, have a chip implanted in them allowing their brains to work as computers. As they explore the station, the travelers learn of the mysterious Level 500 that some of them are promoted to but are never seen again. The Doctor and Rose go to that mysterious level to find out just who - or what - is up there. Adam meanwhile tries to access the computer banks with the view to taking advanced knowledge back to present day Earth. Written by garykmcd
EPS08
All of her life, Rose's mother told how great a man her father Pete was. He was killed by a hit and run driver when Rose was just a baby and among her many regrets was that her father died alone, just lying on the street. Rose asks the Doctor to take her back to that day. Rather than just be with him when he dies, she actually saves him and later admits that this was her plan all along. She soon realizes that her parents' marriage was not exactly the golden relationship she had claimed it to be. Far worse however, is that by saving her father, Rose has created a tear in space and time with the result that creatures are now feasting on humans. The Doctor isn't sure he'll be able to make everything right. Pete knows what he has to do, however. Written by garykmcd
EPS09
Rose and the Doctor find themselves in 1941 London when the TARDIS receives an emergency signal from another time-traveling vehicle. While the Doctor tries to determine where the object may have landed, Rose goes off in search of a child she can hear calling for help. When she gets herself into a precarious situation, she's rescued by the rather handsome RAF Captain Jack Harkness, who owns a time machine of his own. The Doctor meanwhile meets Nancy who has an interesting way of arranging meals for homeless children. They are also being chased by the child Rose heard calling. The Doctor determines that human DNA is being rewritten but it's not obvious why or by who. Written by garykmcd
EPS10
The Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack Harkness are still in the hospital with the gas mask-wearing mutants and are having some trouble finding a way out. The Doctor determines that the ambulance Captain Jack was using in his scam contained nano genes, similar to the one's he used to repair Rose's rope-burned hands. Only in this case, there are enough nano genes on the loose to repair an entire species and they have no idea what a human looks like in the first place. The future of the human race lies in Nancy accepting her true relationship to the little boy who is haunting her. Written by garykmcd
EPS11
Six months after ridding London of the Slitheen, the Doctor takes the TARDIS to Cardiff to refuel on a rift in time and space. The Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack Harkness are joined by Mickey Smith, Rose's boyfriend. They've barely arrived when they realize that the new Lord Mayor is one of the Slitheen, Margaret, from their previous encounter. The nuclear facility she has been promoting is called Bad Wolf, an expression the Doctor has come across on several occasions. The Doctor will transport her to her home planet - where she says she faces a death warrant - but they are unable to depart until the next morning when the TARDIS is fully recharged. After unsuccessfully pleading her case to the Doctor, Margaret takes more decisive action. Written by garykmcd
EPS12
After delivering Margaret the Slitheen to her home planet, the Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack Harkness awaken to find themselves as part of TV reality or game shows. The Doctor is in the Big Brother house; Rose is a contestant on the Weakest Link; and Captain Jack is on What Not to Wear. The only difference is that if you lose on this show, your are evidently eliminated - they take your life. The Doctor manages to escape and quickly realizes where they are: once again on Satellite 5, only this time 100 years beyond their last visit. The Doctor realizes that something has gone very wrong with Earth's development and believes something far more sinister and complex is going on when he learns the satellite is now know as Bad Wolf TV. He and Captain Jack race to find Rose but too late, he realizes that he must once again face his greatest enemy. Written by garykmcd
EPS13
The Doctor comes face to face with the Dalek Emperor but manages to rescue Rose. They return to Satellite 5 to prepare for the invasion with Captain Jack organizing the armed resistance and the Doctor rewiring the station to produce a deadly Delta wave. The Doctor had always promised to take care of Rose and knowing that the Delta wave will destroy everything, he forces her to return to Earth on the TARDIS. With Mickey's help, she finds a way to return to Satellite 5 and acquires a great power, one that will be the end of the Doctor as we know him. Written by garykmcd
