The day after Kono and Adam's wedding, the team investigates a murder. It seems like a man was watching some old videotapes and he was killed one of the tapes was taken. They learn that the tape that was taken was an interview nearly 40 years ago of a centenarian who claims to be part of a group of pirates who pillaged the islands in the 1880's. So someone thinks there's a treasure buried somewhere on the islands. And while Kono and Adam are on their honeymoon, they have an unexpected visitor Gabriel who restrains them and wants something from them and will do whatever he has to, to get it. The team goes and discovers a bunker and it appears to have been used as the base of operations for Japanese espionage during World War 2. They also find human remains and some other things. They learn the remains are that of a Japanese soldier whom they assume was sent to Hawaii on a mission. Jerry, upon learning what they found, deduces that the soldier was laying the ground work for an attack on the US but for some reason it didn't push through. They learn that there were supposed to be explosives in the bunker, so they assume that's what the person who shot the boy took. Steve tries to get him a lawyer but no one wants to take the case so he asks O'Dell whom he knows is a certified lawyer but who hasn't practiced, to represent him. O'Dell is hesitant to do it but he agrees. So while he and Sang Min prepare, Steve and the others try to find the real killer. When they fail to do so, O'Dell has to go to court. Two men are found floating in the ocean and make it to land. One of them is shot, they're brought to the hospital. The one who is hot dies while the other is unconscious. The team investigates and they think the men were on a fishing vessel that uses slave laborers. When the one who is unconscious wakes up, he confirms their suspicions and the team sets out to find the vessel. Danny is on his day off and is spending the day with his kids. When his car breaks down, they take a bus and while on route, they come across a robbery. So Danny tells the driver to follow them till they can get a signal to call it in. The day begins with an elephant running on the street, they learn that it was from the circus and someone let it out. Before they can look into further, they are told that there was a murder at an import export company. Jerry tells them he thinks the company is a front for a government contractor. When they get there they find all sorts of security and the CEO makes them sign a confidentiality agreement before he tells them what it is all about. And what it is all about, is a new body Armour for the military, which was stolen. So they try to find out who else knew about it. In the meantime, Eric tells Jerry that he discovered who's responsible for the elephant and it's someone Jerry knows. Jerry asks him for some time to look into it. A chemical spill causes a mass evacuation at Halava Prison, where Adam is being held and the bus he is on is blown up and one of the surviving inmates is shot and killed. However, Adam and five other surviving inmates including arsonist/serial killer Jason Duclair escape in the confusion. At first it is thought that Gabriel Waincroft is responsible due to the fact that the inmate who was shot bore a striking resemblance to Adam. However, Chin and Jerry realize that it isn't Gabe but the Michelle Shioma, the daughter of Goro Shioma, who Gabe killed. They also figure out that several yakuza soldiers are now hunting for Adam, who Michelle also blames for her father's murder. However, Michelle's soldiers are the least of their worries as one of the escapees, a cannibalistic serial killer, is now targeting his fellow escapees as his next victims. They enlist the aid of a computer expert and locate the person she chatting with, a middle age man. But when they clear him, they go back to square one. They learn that the one who grabbed the girl has abducted someone else and forced him to admit online his sins and the man was found dead. So could he be doing the same thing to her. When a woman is murdered, the team investigates. When they are done, Hirsch who works as a clean up guy shows up. And it's while cleaning he discovers something, a panic room. When he opens the door someone comes out. That's when the investigation takes a turn. They try to find the man Hirsch encountered. But Max informs them that there were two men there. They think the man Hirsch met was trying to rob the place and the another guy showed up and attacked the woman. They find the first guy who admits he hid in the panic room till the other man left. The woman's daughter shows up at the police station claiming that she has an uncle who's a cop. Chin talks to her and is surprised to learn who her uncle is and who her father is. Gunfire is exchanged and they can't call anyone for help. Eventually they get one of the gunmen's coms and call Grover who tries to get to them but more gunmen stops him. When a friend of Nahele dies from an overdose, it seems like he took new drug which has been killing a lot of people. Steve sets out to stop it so he arrests a known dealer and gets him to say where he got it from. And he says the one he got it from is a pilot who claims to be only a delivery man. Steve tells him to tell who he works for that he can't make the next run and that he has another pilot who can replace him--Steve. Danny goes with him and it's while they are in flight that someone in a helicopter shoots at them and Steve is hit and passes out, leaving no one to fly the plane.
