Virginia feels terribly guilty for letting Maw-maw down, so the Chance couples resolve to free her from the residential home back to her and their house. The plan rests on Jimmy, posing as a great illusionist, smuggling in his parents. When they see the professional, devoted staff at work, Virginia changes her mind and they leave. When Burt and Virginia hear about the rich man-holiday trappings of reverend Bob's parish retreats for future couples, they arrange to go along with Jimmy and Sabrina. The seniors do better in the weird tests, based on long experience which each-other's quirks, while Sabrina can't stand loosing badly almost non-stop. As a consequence, they also miss out on the luxury bungalows and must sleep in a tacky mobile home. It's Halloween party time. Burt promises to teach Jimmy how to party and takes him to what turns out to be a gay nightclub. Burt really takes to it, and Virginia agrees he can have a boys' night out when she plays cards with women. Still, she gets jealously curious enough to sneak in dressed as a man. When Jimmy finds out that his parents initially gave him up for adoption but soon repented, he wants to meet his 'other' family, especially as it includes the big brother he always wanted, Brad Jenkins, now a successful real estate broker. On home advice, he poses as a rich potential client, but gets on so well with Brad that he eagerly accepts a country club invitation with his parents, who soon give the game away, after which the Jenkins' snob masks fall. Jimmy and Sabrina are surprised to find his parents unwilling to help Hope win the place of honor on the pageant float at Natesville's annual radish festival, Jimmy's first public moment of glory as a kid, by selling most candy. They learn it's because the rivalry with Virginia's Latina cleaning colleague Roas's family escalated to a near-civil war. Finding Rosa's grandkid in the running against the solemn peace pledge, Maw-maw is mobilizes to produce her secret, irresistible chocolate with bacon fat, but the feared escalation sets a new record. Barney calls on his staff to help with a charity run for his bravely-disclosed bowl syndrome. Jimmy steps up, but hoped his parents wouldn't tells Sabrina he had the 'runs' as a child, whenever they asked him to settle their endless bickering. After bumping into her as bitter ex Wyatt's family in a sushi bar, Sabrina is hell-bent on keeping even his gifts, notably an ice-makes, and concludes a bet on whether he or Jimmy will win the charity run, stirring excessive parental support. For two years, the Chance boys indulged Victoria's superstitious belief that the world would end when the Mayan calender runs out, hording apocalyptic survival supplies. Now the day arrives, but it's just before Christmas, and Jimie refuses to miss out on Hope's first. The compromise is to hold an early Christmas, and the real if the world survives. Ultimately Burt misses out on his prize for pretending, a love night to end all time, when Jimie gives the game away. Victoria persists that time is ending, even grumpy when it doesn't, but when Rosa, who inspired her and spend the 'last day' at Disneyworld, returns broke, the provisions are still put to good use. Jimmy's rust bucket being too unsafe to drive Hope around, Sabrina convinces him to buy a new car, even if that means his first-ever loan. The Chance parents however talk him out of taking a loan, snapping up the second-hand DeLorean they all consider a dream car as Jimmy's budget only stretches to another near-wreck. Sabrina gets him eager to borrow after all, but then they find his credit rating is 'no way', due to 'identity heft' by his parents when he was a toddler. Jimmy can't afford a precious engagement ring, as even Burt advises, but since Sabrina claims to want none, thinks he can make up by proposing in an original way, alas advised by Frank. Virginia wants to give him her ring, but didn't expect Burt would ask about it, unlike many times she pawned it, and pretends it's stolen, but Burt brings in horny officer Ross. Groom Jimmy, Burt and assorted irresponsible mates have a wild bachelor party as Howdy's, which gets way out of hand. Frank ends up with a valid gay marriage license, which he uses to prevent Jimmy from marrying in his view less loving Sabrina. Wally Phipps is hired a s lawyer both to demand and prevent an annulment. Jimmy ends up signing up for a trial period, after which he may choose, but finds Frank free of Sabrina's flaws and far more accommodating to his own, unlike his family. Written by KGF Vissers

Jimmy's wedding day his finally arrived, but as the camera team hired by his mother in law, who refuses to attend, records, the Chance family and their festively bumbling Howdies team aren't nearly ready. After bickering with Burt over a fit wedding present, Virginia finds she failed to arrange the marriage license in time. The Chance parents reach the limit of do it self when even Burt is electrocuted too often trying to do electrical wiring with a Spanish-only manual. So they go hire an illegal Hispanic, but bump into former sports star Ricardo, now homeless, who quickly gets himself 'invited' and practically takes over the household. Barney donates air-miles so the newlywed can go on honeymoon to California, but Jimmy can't overcome his flying phobia, so Barney promises to drive them and put them up at his stepson's Hollywood villa, as Trevor, once Jimmy's juvenile rival for Sabrina, is now a TV star. Jimmy gets to play an embarrassing part next to Hope, who seems on her way, despite Virginia's excessive merchandising, to outshine star 'magician' Trevor, whose revenge is merciless. When foxy Rachel, a girl from Jimmie's childhood, turns up to visit, the Chance parents reluctantly come to realize it's no longer possible to hide from Jimmie how they constantly 'protected' him against a broken heart, and themselves from nursing it, by preventively scaring off girls 'out of his league'. When Burt's parents arrive for another uneasy visit, his mother Christine claims to have discovered being a Jewess and having embraced the Hebrew faith, hence demands her son does so by having a belated Bar Mitzhva. Burts accepts after consulting local Jewish acquaintances, even Virgina learns some kosher cooking. Rabbi Zwerin gives the idiot a crash course, but on the very day his parents admit having invented the whole thing to win back the gifts they gave to others as guests over the years at weddings and such events. On Mother's Day, the Chance boys set out to treat their mothers and even track down Maw-Maw's Norma June, whom they ignored being alive, eagerly helped by Barney, but find the crone no less amnesiac and vicious. Virginia is jealous of Sabrina getting the present 'from Hope', feeling she's raising her granddaughter with the boys, but comes to realize that Sabrina is worse off with such a useless mother of her own.
